Yeah, I knew the surprise party was coming all along, but the entire episode (especially Pinkie Pie's mental breakdown) was entertaining enough that it didn't bother me at all, kids' show or not.

I saw the surprise party coming after Twilight came to pick-up the cake. I found the excuses everyone came up with the best part.

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned that you can't trust information obtained via aggressive interrogation techniques.

I liked this episode. All the gags and expressions were great, as usual. Pinkie going off the deep end was the best.

However, I was kind of hoping that the moral would be a little different. I wasn't expecting the other ponies to throw her a surprise party, I was actually expecting them to be a little worn out from partying, and that the lesson Pinkie would learn was that not everyone wants to party when she does and she should take no for an answer. Kind of like that one Phineas and Ferb episode where Candace goes to Mars.

That's not how it turned out, of course, but maybe in a future episode something like that will happen. I guess to me it seemed a little thoughtless to invite her friends to another party the very next day.

Yeah, I was expecting that myself. Might have colored my opinion of the episode a little.

I'm so glad they didn't forget Gummie in this episode. The idea of a toothless alligator as a pet is just so great for a character as off-key as Pinkie.

Oh geez, did not expect a Friendship Is Magic episode to creep me out, especially not a Pinkie Pie episode. Rainbow Dash's reaction to Pinkie's breakdown pretty much summed up my thoughts on that scene. oO

This episode has provided excellent fuel for fanfics everywhere, hasn't it?

It certainly has, though I'm not sure we needed more creepy Pinkie fanfics.

I'm a little worried that fanon Pinkie is going to be constantly on the verge of killing everyone.

Pinkie seemed more on the verge of being a crazed shut-in than a serial killer, really.

What amused me is that insane!Pinkie's eyes were perfectly fine in her mind, and derpy in reality.

Yeah, but what actually happens in an episode and what the fandom take away aren't necessarily the same thing.

It seemed a bit ironic to me that after all the fuss she raised in "Green Isn't Your Color" about keeping secrets, Pinkie so totally freaked out over this. Actually, I was a little surprised Twilight didn't make a comment about that... Probably would've gotten it thrown back in her face with "AHA! I KNEW you were hiding something from me!", but still...

I don't think it was the secret keeping so much as the blatantly lying to her face.

This episode was kind of a mixed bag! I was also pretty disappoint by the way the moral turned out. The way she acted at the party really seemed to set things up for a "people have their limits" moral. I already thought that that whole scene seemed pretty forced, but now it seems pointless, too.

The rest was nice, except for psycho Pinkie Pie. Which was ''excellent'. ... And yes, she does look much prettier with straight hair.

What I learned this episode is that I must never settle for an episode in less than ideal quality. The thing that really makes this series great is the voicework, so perfect sound quality is an absolute must for me to truly enjoy it.

Speaking of voices, Applejack's embarrassed voice. For some reason, I find it particularly endearing.

This is it. The "friends mysteriously avoiding you because they're throwing a surprise party" cliche has been PERFECTED. There will never be a repetition of the cliche that is better than this. I'm glad that it remained popular long enough to result in such perfection, but now, it should never be used in any cartoon ever again.

There, I have successfully had my cake and eaten it, too. GLORY IS ME, FOR I HAVE BROKEN REALITY!

And its funny but when they kept doing the stealthybullocks runaround, all I could think is "I hope they're keeping an eye on their visibility meter."

And I only just realized that holy crap I can identify with Pinkie Pie now. Dark Past has been connected to Present State. She makes sense now.

My mind is too scoodlewaggy right now to elaborate in any coherent form.
