See, my understanding of the Element of Magic is that it is more like faith in/desire for friendship.

I believe this because of both the situation that caused Twilight to discover it, and the way she only lost her colors during Discord's rampage when she lost faith in her friends and was ready to just leave.

I consider this the most important part of it, but not the only part of it.

Also, could someone link me to Meghan's jossing of "Star Swirl is Discord"? I don't understand Twitter and someone on another forum wants the evidence.

I picked up the Micro Series this weekend, haven't gotten to read it yet though. I went on a hike on Saturday and then a Craft show on Sunday so my weekend was pretty busy.

I'm working on cutting out a pattern to make Bat-pony. His cutie mark and eyes are digitized and ready to embroider. I have off on Thursday so hopefully I'll have time to get him started and post progress pics.

Was it an anonymous Facebook post from a guy claiming to be Tara's "personal assistant" saying every single one of the VA's were complete assholes to him out of nowhere? Because that...sounds fake.

Granted a whole lot of things could well have gone wrong, but that one sounds very off.

Yeah, saw that, and I agree, especially since another comment said that everyone that's ever had to help them with anything have said that they're awesome and a joy to work with. But no, it was...this one.

It mentions Bronycon Winter but I have no idea of what happened at that.

Gee I hope stuff like that doesn't discourage V As and Writers and such from attending other cons. Bronycon is in Baltimore this summer and I was planning on going since Its only about a 30 minute drive for me (or I can take the train in)

The staff has been to plenty of not-scam cons and are relatively bright peeps, so I think they'll be bright enough to know an exception to the rule when they see it.

Still, it'll probably encourage people to be more owly with the books next time.

Yeah. If anything this is more fuel for the Meta section of the Heartwarming page, considering that when everything started going wrong people started donating money to comp the people that had been kicked out of their rooms and would end up having to pay for their plane tickets and rooms.

Either that or people will try and be more competent in their planning. I mean, the biggest ones like Brony Con and Everfree will probably go on without a hitch but other independent cons might be kind of tainted.

That's because the exact facts are mixed in with rumors and speculation. We don't know that it was a scam. We don't know that the staff bailed. No site with a shred of integrity is going to report on the facts before they actually know the facts.

Never assume malice when incompetence is a valid explanation.
