Unfortunately, the power of friendship has been proven to give ponies an unfair advantage in the games. Therefore, all athletes must undergo a friendship test before participating. They are shadowed by Pinkie Pie for a day, and must not show her any more friendliness or familiarity than simple courtesy. They also undergo a complete background check. Those found to have friends or to be capable of making friends are barred from participation.
Ponyville doesn't have the infrastructure anyway.
@342626: then how does Applejack not winning any blue ribbons that one time figure in?
Praise to Itempas, Dayfather, Brightlord
The Equestria Rodeo Comission have had it in for AJ ever since she refused to give them pie bribes.
At times, but not enough to place a label on her, IMO. She's no more grumpy than the likes of Twilight or Applejack.
That's what I said, Lurker. AT TIMES.
Spike isn't Twilight-licious.
I feel so torn about My Little Dashie. It's the perfect example of the fact that writing and storytelling are two completely different skills.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
So, what do you think? Does Rainbow Dash really have a harsh, sullen demeanor at times?
I probably would have been annoyed in those cases too.

Spike: But... But Twilight you have wings!!? You can fly now!!!
Twilight: *Inserts coin*
Spike: Ugh.. forget it.
I can actually see this happening.
