Hi guys! turns out the place I'm staying at does have Wi-fi. It also however has a weighted word type filter, so I can't reach some pages on this thread. Oh well.

So, what do you guys expect will turn up next season? Do you think Chrysalis will come back, do you think a background pony will get some limelight, or what?

Um...I don't know if this is the right thread for this or if it's been brought up yet, but the extended trailer came out today. It's mostly just some fun little things with Tara, De Lancie and Faust, but right towards the end Faust says that she wanted Twilight to eventually be Celestia's successor and that she planted seeds for her plans throughout the first season.

...Huh.

[up] In hindsight, it's now pretty obvious.

I mean, Twilight was highlighted several times as Celestia's student, ya know - like an apprentice-master relationship.

Well then, guess the writers got lucky. Or perhaps the writers already knew she wanted to make her a successor and they just came up with the foreshadowing and hints for season 3 on their own? Either way, it's much more obvious after looking back on it.

Yeah it's clear now that Twi was supposed to graduate to something special. Now she has, and many tears were shed.

Not tears, liquid pride. There's a difference!

That beautiful quire at the end of Celestia's Ballad still gets me. It's just so heartwarming and epic at the same time.

If I have to pick a fav episode, it would be the finale, mainly cause of Celestia's Ballad.

I wish most Shonen Upgrade (s) were anywhere near that level of emotional-OOMPH.

Yeah, I felt teary-eyed and very proud of Twilight.

Seriously though, that sequence was awesome enough to give Final Fantasy and the Legend of Zelda a run for their money. It was just done perfectly. Twilight's breathless surprise mirrored our own and Celestia's song was basically all what we were thinking.

You can say what you want about the rest of the episode being rushed in one place or another, and I'd agree with you at a few points, but that scene was just right.

Still, if I had to choose, the Cutie Mark Chronicles is still my favorite. It blends humour, lampshade Hanging of the cheesier moments, and is one of the most heartwarming things I've ever scene in Television.
