Waiting for teh tradepaperback is so tough.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
@Lurker: " Even the more brutal sides of nature that make the rest of the group squeamish simply fascinate her."
That's canon? Aw shit yes, I knew I was characterizing her right.

@Psi She has a particular unnamed lieutenant that she banters with a lot. He's pretty cool, being loyal, but logical.
@psi: I saw a page where one of her generals gets actual dialogue, and the changelings themselves seem to have touches of personality as well.
Sounds like it's making for some good development, more like a conventional hero vs villain genre. I think the show needed more developed antagonists, ones that don't Face Turn straight afterwards anyway.
I knew that Changelings weren't a hivemind. That furthers my idea that there are probably Changelings who don't want to be predatory, and are possibly looking into other methods... when the queen isn't watching them, of course.
I have a message from another time...

This might interfere with my bat pony fanon, but I don't care because its such a interesting premise.

@Ed: It can't have been that bad, given that the CMC show up again later and they don't seem too traumatized.
Yeah, you can imagine anything there. The fact that they would even insinuate something terrible happening is interesting though.
I have it that bat ponies were created by Nighmare Moon. This story involves NM, so it might undo that.
