Well, we're still getting a season 4, and I Think Hasbro is just smart enough not to mess with that.

Their next IP or show or whatever is not something I can predict though.

If they could lure Lauren Faust back in for this new IP... then I'd watch it.

All we know is that the movie is a pilot for some new series, right? I skimmed the past few pages.

It takes a special something for me to get past the kiddy factor and enjoy a show.

I will curve my pessimism at the moment.

No matter what happens, we are still getting another season (God bless those guys). Also, if this new IP turns out to be substandard, we can just pretend it did not happen.

Eh, as long as the fandom can hang on for a bit longer it'll become basically self-perpetuating.

@The Freeman; Actually we don't know if its a pilot, we just know there's a TV movie and a new IP aimed at teenage girls and older. We're assuming its a pilot for a spin-off, but if it was you would think Hasbro would say that instead of calling it a TV movie...

This is what happens when you announce things without details, everyone is just kinda confused and Wild Mass Guessing.

In my opinion, while the current crew working on FiM has proved that lightning can strike even on the most unexpected networks, that's exactly what I'm comparing it to. If they don't import the same team, my willingness to give this new IP a shot is going to drop sharply. Remember that FiM is all but unique in that it was created by someone who had a clear vision of enjoyability and accessibility for people of all genders and all ages; the current writing team has done a good job of maintaining the direction Faust's footprints have led them, but I don't trust an unrelated group of show writers unless they've proven themselves to be over the whole 'cartoons for girls have to be inane and pink' thing.

If they could get Rebecca Sugar...

I Think it's highly likely that Hasbro will have FIM's team work on the New IP. They do have experience with MLP. and Are already working on a another show. I will expect some new writers though since writing, and such for 3 different shows would cause burnout for a while. And if and only if the show ends we still have IDW's comics and I'm sure some fans will stay in the fandom.

Yeah there is still the comic to be hopefull about. Given the way other comics have worked, I'd say IDW has pretty much full control, long as they don't go to overboard. Plus they aren't seen as just a commercial

So as long as they continue to sell, we should have plenty of great stuff from those. Tons of great series went on to be rather successful and huge in comic form after the original was cancelled/turned to shit

Luna really likes those grilled cheese sandwiches.

I've been enjoying the comic so far. That could be a good replacement if the show goes downhill.
