If they could lure Lauren Faust back in for this new IP... then I'd watch it.
All we know is that the movie is a pilot for some new series, right? I skimmed the past few pages.
@Turtle You mean that despite not knowing anything about what it is, you would refuse to watch it no matter what?
I'll still give it a legitimate shot, of course. No amount of cynicism is going to stop me from hoping for the best.
Okay as much as I doubt this will be great. At least give it a shot.
I will curve my pessimism at the moment.
No matter what happens, we are still getting another season (God bless those guys). Also, if this new IP turns out to be substandard, we can just pretend it did not happen.
It is in the nature of the spiteful to spread animosity.
Eh, as long as the fandom can hang on for a bit longer it'll become basically self-perpetuating.
In my opinion, while the current crew working on FiM has proved that lightning can strike even on the most unexpected networks, that's exactly what I'm comparing it to. If they don't import the same team, my willingness to give this new IP a shot is going to drop sharply. Remember that FiM is all but unique in that it was created by someone who had a clear vision of enjoyability and accessibility for people of all genders and all ages; the current writing team has done a good job of maintaining the direction Faust's footprints have led them, but I don't trust an unrelated group of show writers unless they've proven themselves to be over the whole 'cartoons for girls have to be inane and pink' thing.
If they could get
Rebecca Sugar...
Won't be online for a while due to the holidays. Stay safe, happy and warm!
If I'm ever the head of something like this (which will probably never happen), I'm going to actually include some decent information beyond "something's in the works".
I've been enjoying the comic so far. That could be a good replacement if the show goes downhill.
