I'm off to watch The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists for inspiration.

And I might be away for a few days here. So goodbye and good luck!

@Enlong What? Cadance wasn't the one visiting. The Equestrian Games inspector was.

Phew! I also misunderstood that. I was afraid they were jossing my fanfic! In a completely unexpected way too!

@Apple: Huh. That movie is just called Pirates! In North America. Although the full title is certainly apprpriate.

I wonder why they renamed it. The UK title certainly makes it sound different. I also didn't realize it was claymation from the US posters.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

Aardman often tends to make edits for US versions of their films, though it's usually due to Executive Meddling wanting to tone down the British dialect (Curse of The Wererabbit I believe got a few edits and a changed final title because of this).

For some reason Twidash immediately brings up Sonic and Sally in my mind.

@Psi 001: I think that's because RD and Twilight have quite a bit of simularitys to Sonic and Sally in terms of personality. Except for the fact that, You know, Twilight has way more personality and fun flaws then Sally does {Especially more then the comic version of Sally}.tongue

True, RD does admitedly play a lot like Sonic's reckless and arrogant personality (after having watched Season Two I would have said they suffered the same Flanderization), but she has gotten better this season.

Makes me wonder if Sonic would have got similar Character Development if they had made a third season.

Now all I can imagine is Sally in a bush with a Slasher Smile.tongue

When I hear Sally I think Darths & Droids, so I'd say she's most like Pinkie.

Kath Soucie does admitedly have a very similar vocal range to Tara Strong, so much Twilight and Sally actually sound near identical in places.

But we all know Twilight's true soulmate is Pinkie. Maybe Sally should hook up with that very similar acting little green duck.evil grin

@Psi: Pinkie is more or less the pony version of Amy Rose, especially given how she chased after RD in "Griffon The Brush Off" in a similar manner as Pepe La Pew, and how she's constantly bugging RD to hang out with her.tongue

Come to think of it, RD also has a young orange fan who she's recently taken in as her adoptive "Sister". I swear, the simularity's between Sonic and RD increase eatch season.evil grin

I've actually seen rather increasingly heavy links in RD's Dynamic Character to both Sonic the Hedgehog and Thomas the Tank Engine of all characters. Buttercup is also pretty much a Static Character variant of her.

Considering that Lauren Faust is the wife of the guy who made Powerpuff Girls {And I can never ever remember how to spell his name correctly tongue}, and how she also wrote and/or animated some of the episodes {If I remember correctly}, I wouldn't be surpised if she at least partially based RD's personality on Buttercup {And the other half being based on the G1 pony Firefly, who would have been in RD's place instead if Hasbro didn't lose their copyrights regarding her}.

The name I think you're looking for is Genndy Tartakovsky (I had to look it up to spell myself grin). Yeah, RD resembles Buttercup, except with more freedom to develop her character. Buttercup pretty much ended up like her Season Two form, more enthasis on the ineffectual jerk part. Same for Sonic in Sonic Sat Am really.

Silly question.

Celestia gives each of the Mane Cast a lemon. What will they do?
It is in the nature of the spiteful to spread animosity.

I thought everyone said the CMC were basically ponified versions of the Powerpuff Girls? (I've never actually watched PPG.)

I just noticed that the seat cushion Pinkie was lurking under disappeared in that shot.
Didn't she fling the cushion away when she stood up?

And, since today is apparently National Jump To Conclusions Day...

[up][up]Some feel a bit like Composite Characters in places. Bubbles has traits of both Fluttershy and Pinkie. Buttercup is RD, while Blossom is Twilight and maybe a bit of AJ.

@ Marston: Whoops forgot it was him that made it. Tartakovshy must have just helped in it's production (you can always tell his stuff due to the animation).

[up]I've only seen bits and pieces of the film so far. Looks pretty funny though.

I honestly thought that Strong and Ball did the voices of Sally and Bunnie in SATAM before I looked it up.

@D-roy

Pinkie makes chocolate milk out of the lemon and leaves everyone to wonder how.

@Meta: There are definite similarities, but they aren't as samey as a lot of people make them out to be. They're just both Beauty, Brains, and Brawn Power Trio type deals.

Twilight assumes it's some kind of test, and starts freaking out and researching what the "solution" is.

With the "help" of the CMC, Twi invents the combustible lemon.

Twilight probably would; she'd look up lemons in her books and come to the conclusion that that's what you're supposed to do in that situation.

LEMONS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!!!

@ Super Gex: Strong and Soucie do actually work in a lot of the same shows and even trade roles at times. Soucie was Bubble's original VA before Strong took over for example.
