So I just saw the episode. The opening is a bit funnier if you realize that owls can eat rabbits.
Also, how the heck did Spike make that big speach with nopony hearing him?

@Mousa: I've only seen one negative reaction to the episode thus far, which actually makes this the most positively received episode to date.
BIG MAC AND CHEERILEE IN THE BACKGROUND
There were a lot of cameos, but I missed that one.
Holy crap, I thought jewels were too common to be worth that much, but that's a pretty big blow dryer for one gem.
That doesn't really make sense to me either. Headcanon: they got it for cheap because it was used or a fire sale or something.
Also, one thing I liked about the episode was that the CMC actually showed personalities.

It was strange how happy I was when Zecora showed up in the episode.

It's not like they're tripping over gems in Ponyville. Rarity had to go a good ways out to find a place where they were plentiful, and she was uniquely qualified to gather them. They could quite easily be valuable, just not as valuable as in real life.
Yeah, Spike needs to talk Twilight into baking him a cake if he ever wants to get one that actually has gems in it. Or at least ask her to mix the batter for him.
The Cakes would also do it (see SOME).

Uilleam: Cracked link please.
Animu Dash.
Yeah, I found the CMC kind of samey, but I was only really annoyed by Spike's singing. Reminds me of middle school kids, and I dislike middle school kids.

C'MON AND SLAM! AND WELCOME TO THE JAM!
and I don't think I've seen anything more adorable than RD and Tank
I especially liked the way they nuzzled while noone was looking.
