Well, there is the way they were portrayed in one AMAZING fic, as a rather technologically advanced, and organized race, equal to the gryphons and ponies, and the ones we saw were just outcasts and criminals that were on their own.

I love the Derpibooru mods. That attack would have been hell on PB, but here it lasted like five minutes and it was cleaned up.

MY headcanon for the Diamond Dogs is that they are enslaved and foced to mine gems for an evil dragon.
