I think what she meant by that is she wanted more "body types", like Pinkie being a little chubbier or Applejack having a more athletic build instead of all the ponies being the exact same size (with exceptions like the Cakes) to make it easier for the animators, who's jobs are hard enough as is.

...It just dawned on me that we could, in fact, get a cameo from adult Pinkie sisters in the next episode and finally put an end to the "Is Octavia Pinkie's Sister?" debate once and for all!

...You don't think the fandom will tear itself apart from that being confirmed/jossed do you? :P

It is possible to think of Gilda of an Everfree Forest creature, and in that case it's her own fault (even if it is a natural gryffon tendency like the apparent irritability in older dragons). If there is a gryffon culture out there though, I always thought that they'd have a quite different set of ethics, maybe a Proud Warrior Race where the stronger and prouder survive. In which case it'd be more of an issue of Gilda and Dash trying to be friends, but cultural differences getting between them. What count as Dash's faults in pony society, the overconfidence and brashness and fondness for mischief, may actually earn her respect among gryffons.

(Actually that could make a good episode - Dash impressing gryffons with her attitude and aerial feats, and receiving from her the appreciation she feels she deserves but what the ponies never give her. Her friends would have to show her that a gryffon's life isn't neccessary all that, and that her friendly traits like loyalty are more important.)

The two spoke like Gilda had flown a long way to meet Dash. If she simply lived in the everfree forest then I doubt that RD wouldn't have gone to see her during the long period between Junior Speedsters camp and now

True but still, this is Rainbow Dash we're talking about, unless the distance was extraordinary (and I'm talking like, across the entire country level extraordinary) I don't see why she wouldn't have gone to visit Gilda before now, or vice versa. Especially given how clingy Gilda is of her

You know how big the Amazonian Forest is? What about the Bayou? Yeaaaaah...

Why do you think that the two haven't met since? Nothing in the episode indicates that. She may have been meeting her as regularly as the rest of the cast for all we know.

It just seemed like the most likely scenario. The plot was about an old friend meeting the new friends, and demonstrating how much RD's grown as a pony compared to Gilda. Sure they COULD'VE been meeting before then, but there's nothing to indicate that that's the case either, or that she's from the Everfree Forest.

Gilda also asks: "Have you got any new moves? Or are you 100% Old Skool?" That doesn't sound like the sort of thing you'd ask if you were meeting someone on a regular basis. It sounds like the sort of thing you'd say to someone whom you haven't seen in ages.

Also: "Just like old times" "Yeah, only faster." Would they really say that if they were meeting regularly?

I'm going by Occam's Razor logic "The obvious solution is most likely the correct one"

Yeah, that makes sense. It looked a lot like a meeting between old friends who haven't seen each other in a long time.

And now I'm wondering if we've been told what made the Everfree Forest the way it is. The name suggests someone "freeing" it from the scheduling of nature.

I wouldn't be suprised if Discord had something to do with it.

Just watched 'Return of Harmony, part 1', and I got only one thing to say about it:

Discord is the most awesome animated villain I have seen in years.

I'll be disappointed if Discord is just a one-shot villain.

Getting back to Luna, I liked her blinking stare of confusion after Twilight was relieved that she recognized her "Starswirl the Bearded" costume. Luna's look was like, "Does not everypony know of Starswirl?" Maybe a thousand years ago, Luna, but not today!

He certainly is awesome. Here's hoping he returns one day.

@Calnos: If the fandom didn't self destruct over Luna, I don't think having the "Octavia is Pinkie's sister" thing get disproven will be much of a problem.

John de Lancie is totally game for appearing another time. It's up to the showrunners whether Discord will make a comeback. And judging by the overwhelmingly positive reception he got... yeah, I can totally see Season 3 Discord coming up.

yep, if a Season 3 is announced, they'll most likely write Discord back in. I just hope he isn't in the season kickoff, though- I would like to see more variety in the two-parters.
