I think the animator responsible for sitting Lyra admitted he did it on purpose just to have fun. Something about that scene I noticed one time is that while all the other ponies' smoothly turn their head to the camera, Lyra's head sort of "jerks" to the camera. One frame she's staring off in the distance, next frame she's looking at Pinkie/us! So..uh...semi error?

Wasn't she awesome? I definately want to see more of her now. Especially that magic of hers!

It looks weird whatever it is.

Trial Ponies-- Update!

I too was surprised by Zecorah's magic. That seems like the sort of thing Twilight would get up in arms about though, don't you think?

Looks to be a potion or something, or some sort of dust that causes, or resolves into, visions. I imagine she spends a fair amount of time gathering mushrooms and reagents and such in the Everfree forest for various remedies, potions, and the like.

...Wait, why does that make Zecora sound like Marisa?

Then again, there are magical plants in this setting. Prehaps manipulating them can create special effects?

I certainly hope so. Because I'd love to see a villian using Poison Joke as a weapon.

With regards to the Pinkie Pie likeability discussion from a few pages back:

I think it's fine as long as her antics aren't the focus of the entire episode. Then it just gets annoying.

I love Pinkie Pie, but even I think she was remarkably insensitive in this episode. Felt like the beginning of Flanderization to me.

Insensitive, or absent and ignorant?

Either one works.

I'm going with Ignorance here. Chances are she thought that Luna was trying to be scary, so she played along.

A little bit of both I think.

It's still a little early to call that, plus you can generally expect character personalities to fluctuate from episode to episode, for a number of reasons. That said it wouldn't surprise me if flanderization set in for any of the characters this season.

Random idea:

Elements of Harmony: the Musical

Awesome idea, but after trying to listen to the Cupcake musical I don't think any Bronies have both the skill and motivation to actually make it.

Cupcake musical? What's that?

1, 2 - Pinkie didn't share the same alarm as the others when getting rid of the bubblegum cloud, and laughed at HERSELF after she was broken from Discord's spell.

3 - She was virtually absent from the episode and didn't help Twilight with her problem.

4 - Her only motive was trick-or-treating, and even revealed that she INTENTIONALLY acted scared around Luna for the sake of the holiday and that it's fun to be scared, abite leading to Twilight's epiphany.

So far she's not out of character yet. But we're just see MORE of her distance from the rest of the cast than usual this season.

I'm gonna take wild stab and say a musical version of that most horrible fanfic.
