Perpetual Lurker: That probably would be a good example of what Fluttershy would be like with a child who was her opposite, then, it would be like a pony version of Angel bunny. Or like when she was babysitting the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

Come to think of it, unless I'm forgetting something, Sleepless in Ponyville is probably the first time we've seen Rainbow Dash in a child-carer type of position (Twilight has Spike, Applejack and Rarity have their siblings, Fluttershy has "The Stare Master" and her animals, and Pinkie has "Baby Cakes").

I would imagine that opposite for Rarity would be more someone who tends to look at the big picture but tends to skip over the minutiae, in contrast to Rarity's attention to detail at the cost of sometimes missing the forest for the trees.

There's no need to sharpen my pencils anymore. My pencils are sharp enough.

Even the dull ones will leave a mark.

Either that or they're just a slob.

Rainbow Dash would get stuck with a foal with no interest in athletics and is basically a total egghead.

I could also see Rainbow Dash being the type to brag about her children's accomplishments to other parents, too. So if her child was very smart and invented pony computers, she would be bragging about that the same as she'd brag about having the faster flier for a child.

It's certainly possible, although it would be rather odd to see them working that into the plot. Maybe if SA and Cadance show up in the finale their foal might be a plot point or something. It would certainly be interesting.
