Say, the Princesses have never been subjected to slapsticks, have they?

well, there was Celestia getting buried under the scrolls that one time.

@JT

Wife-tossing and Luna...I am not sure if those count.

By the way, I just visited fimfiction.net and your fic is featured again. Congrats?

@Bliss - That counts, I guess.

I skipped Magic Duel and more or less skimmed through Sleepless.

You're...skipping episodes? O.O

Yeah, I just updated it about 2 hours ago. I'm kinda surprised its still in the feature box. Not complaining, though.

[up]Okay, that's going into the repository.

Hey! Its a humanized version of that infected pony from the comic!

Also, damn you IDW for not being more creative with your comic book subtitles.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!

@JT - Ah, cool. Hmm, haven't checked chapter 9 yet.

I don't know why, but the cuter a character is, more fun it is to see her (comedically) suffer.

Oh yeah, JT wrote a thing that I was almost considering reading. Forgot about that. Once school ends it's back to Mormon ponies and that Thief crossover I've been toying with.
Fanfiction I hate.

Waiting two more days is more difficult then I would have hoped.

I wonder if there will be an episode where Pinkie has to wait for something. Of course, it'd be a bit like the paint staring contest already.

I have to leave early. Goodbye everyone.
Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

After the school is officially over, I shall work on my Modern Warfare X MLP:FIM crossover.

Bye, Lopiny.

I have to work on my extra credit assignments, so goodnight.

Before I go:

Ladies and gentleman, check out this real life Super Stallion!

Playing through this incredibly generically titled RPG. It's...pretty dull and poorly balanced, and I'm not sure how much of is nostalgic suck as a parody of Final Fantasy 1 and how much of it is just poorly planned suck.

The world map is huge but obscenely sparse, so while the game is several hours long, most of it is just walking around the overworld looking for one of the 3-4 towns in the game. There are a lot of places that look like there was going to be a cave or something tucked away there, but never got put in.

Items are hideously overpriced for as little good as they do. Apples that restore less than half of your HP cost more than armor and weapons, and status cures cost several times as much.

Status effect magic is useless and almost never even lands properly on common enemies. Offensive magic is a complete joke. Twilight's spells do less damage than Fluttershy's regular attack, Fluttershy's summons do less damage than her own regular attack. Both do several times less than Pinkie, AJ, and Dash. So basically, Twilight is a buff bitch for them. Most of the buffs are useless, having either negligible effect or no particularly useful one — for instance, Dash gets a self-target speed buff but has no need for it because she's already faster than pretty much everything in the game. So basically, everyone just spams their regular attack until one side or the other is dead while Twilight tries to look useful and Rarity desperately tries to keep up heals that don't scale properly with enemy damage, and the fight depends entirely on incoming damage spreading itself in the most fortunate possible way among six targets.

The main thing I got out of this game is just more bitterness that MLP Online got C&D'd, because as of yet it's the only pony RPG I've seen that wasn't so half-assed.

Sounds like your average old school JRPG. Which is why I mostly stopped playing them.

[up][up] That's the other thing that irritates me. Not that long ago I binged some actual old-school JRPG's, and while they had early-genre balance issues, sometimes quite severe, even they weren't this bad.

Do you think it's be possible for them to release MLP Online with the characters renamed?

@Story: Their best bet would be to turn it into an MLP parody. They might be able to get protection on those grounds.

It's not so much the characters that are the problem. It's the trademark. Trademarks are an "enforce or you lose it" type deal, whereas copyrights can be enforced at one's leisure. It's why no one ever goes after fan artists or writers unless they make a business out of selling their work. Once you start producing something big with "My Little Pony" in the title, though, then they're more or less forced to step in to protect the trademark on the name. Fighting is Magic and other fan games should be safe, insofar that Hasbro doesn't have any motive to shut them down.

It's the same reason that the Shards of Equestria Magic: The Gathering fan set was shut down. The MTG symbols are all trademarked.

Scoot should use other CMC in her dreams to defeat nightmares.

Cutie Mark Crusaders - Dream Warriors. Babs would be there too.

And they would be fight with Headless Horse who would have pumpkin head. After monster beat Babs would repeat her "Somepony Pumpkin was squashed" line.

So, wait, are only the fangames that can make a profit shut down?
C'MON AND SLAM! AND WELCOME TO THE JAM!
Perpetual Lurker avatar
#316323
No, only the fangames the directly violate Hasbro's trademarks must be shut down, else Hasbro risks losing said trademarks. Of course, all of the others are at risk due to copyright violation, but Hasbro seems to encourage active fan communities, so it's not likely.
Pykrete avatar
#316324 from Viridian Forest
Nope. Anything, profit, cost-covering, or even complete freeware is subject to being shut down.

The studio's been playing unusually cool for a Western IP and has encouraged Hasbro to do the same, but lawyers still gonna lawyer.

Here's a very good article on the subject, detailing the laws, as well as the risks involved for all pony content creators.
