Satin, velvet, or... whatever that kind of fiber is called that is sometimes used in those colored lights. You know, the string things that light up. They sell them at Spencer's sometimes.

Fiber optic lights. I have a tabletop Christmas tree like that.

Luna's mane would feel like a cool breeze, while Celestia's feels like a warm breeze.

I mean, they look rather... Immaterial. You wouldn't feel hair there, but still somehow be able to tug it.

One thing that's been niggling away at me:

Luna says: "It was thou who unleashed the powers of harmony upon us, and took away our Dark Powers!" Now, the way she worded that interests me. She doesn't say: "You purged the darkness from inside me, " or "You erased the evil corruption on my soul" or anything like that. She reffered to Nightmare Moon as her "DARK POWERS". As in, something that belonged to her, not something that was FORCED upon her.

methinks Luna might've tried to beef herself up using a dark spell and it ended up corrupting her mind. That's the theory I'm sticking with until we hear some canon

Except that D&D has taken most if not all of it's monster manual constents from other sources of myths.

New idea on why Luna is a ham: Celestia surely explained to her that things have changed, but really, that's like (as someone put it so well earlier) trying to explain to someone from 1011 all the things that have happened to this point - all the things. And there's another level of disconnect when that person spent those thousand years on the moon corrupted by an evil spirit, not just Fish Out of Temporal Water-style zap-into-the-future stuff. I have my doubts about how well she's adjusted, even now - and falling back on the speech style she's used to using with 'commoners' is forgivable, really. Canterlot seems like a very stuffy society, what with Blueblood and the rest of the Gala ponies, so there's that, as well.
