The dudes in a marching band don't have the blind guy making crazy turns at breakneck speeds. Without so much as contact with the ground to judge distance with.

Yeah, a marching band is analogous to just walking around town, and it goes at a fairly slow pace. Wonderbolt flying would be more like trying to run an obstacle course or drive in a Nascar race or something. Unless RD has perfect echolocation, I don't see it.

Marching bands have fixes step distances and patterns, so it's all a matter of memorization. Flight has way too many variables to me memorized. Air currents can fluctuate, other ponies' positions can be slightly off, and any number of things could get in the way.

If you're going to go the echolocation route, that kinda fails when you A) are approaching the speed of sound as it is, and B) have air loudly rushing past you.

Besides, even the regular Wonderbolts don't look at each other while performing. They practice so they don't have to. Turning your head constantly wouldn't be aerodynamic, and also look silly.

Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

It's called peripheral vision. Also, even if they don't look at each other during performances, they sure do while they're learning the routines.

@Story Peripheral vision exists. All they need is one fixed point to keep themselves orientated. You don't have that when you're blind. Not to mention that it still doesn't account for any pf the variables that will occur in flight.

I will admit that it's possible there could be a spell or something allowing her a greater degree of spatial awareness. Even then it would probably be an uphill battle, though.
