Anyway, it's very unlikely to actually get in a suit about fanfiction (if anything, it'd be the fanfic authors getting sued) but as a large company, Hasbro doesn't want to take the risk. It's different for something like a webcomic author.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
Yeah, show writers cannot read fanfics in case of IP legal tangles. It can get... complicated... when that happens.
Stupid laws. Why can't they ever just be cool?
Because the legal system is so costly that even if you're in the right, you're still better off avoiding it like the plague.

Aw, I'm just messing with yas. The law and I rag on each other all the time, we're cool.
That reminds me, I need to learn how to draw some time.

Blah, I've been meaning to get drawing again for a while. I just haven't had time.
Grr, I wish I could draw. I got so many ideas.

When All Else Fails, worry, that's the 14 way.
I even got a drawing tablet, and I never use it. Stupid laziness, always getting in the way.

@Freeman: They look like dolls. It's creeping me out.
@Connie: That is just adorable. What's the weirdest place you've found a Derpy?
@ Freeman. That second picture is probably the greatest reaction image there is. Please tell me you've added that to the repository.
Tuxedo.
I think my favorite place so far was when she hid her peeking out behind the decorative plates that hang on the kitchen wall. It just looked so cute, like she was playing hide and seek.
If I tried doing adorable things with my brother, he'd probably punch me in the face.
