So the word "alicorn" is canon now. I've always thought it sounds a bit clunky, myself.

I must say, I really loved seeing Trixie's redemption in this episode. I always love it when the vilain makes a Heel Face Turn.

Everybody deserves a second chance as far as I'm concerned.

@Purple

It kinda is, but I personally find it to be the least clunky out of all of the alternative terms.

Supa-Hoe is probably the best term for a princess ever.

... man, it occurs to me this season has been really heavy into Rarijack. I mean, the opening two episodes had them outright flirting, in this Episode AJ was the one who was comforting Rarity... I'm all but certain that they've done stuff in TMPP and OBA as well, but I'd have to go back and watch them to pick anything out...

@Perpetual Lurker: Actually, listening to "R63 Applejack" again, it really sounds like Applejack trying to do an impression of Big Mac.

She's a performer, she needs to have the ego and confidence to put on a good show.

@Ako: That might have been what was happening: AJ tried to do the voice so Trixie wouldn't realize what was going on or something.

Alright, reading the Common Background Ponies page with Gizoogle is hilarious.

Also, on the subject of Male Applejack's voice, the credits list Ashleigh Ball did that "Eyup". It was probably Applejack doing the voice to trick Trixie.

@Ozaniel: Hey, I'm not saying I necessarily buy it(Also that was rather uncalled for), I'm just saying as shipping fuel goes, saying "things are better when they're a Rarity" is pretty heavy.

[up] Speaking of shipping and such, didn't Rarity hold Twilight's hoof at the end of Crystal Empire too?

Is it weird that I really like to see Pinkie Pie suffer? tongue

I mean, I frequently hate that kind of humor, but Pinkie as the Butt Monkey does amuse me.

I think it's because it's a refreshing change from the way cartoons usually pick on the "nerd" character, and we know that Pinkie can take it and is probably laughing about it herself on the inside.

Good episode in all. I felt like it was almost pandering to the Periphery Demographic, with the return of a popular background character, references to previous episodes, and I could swear I counted at least 3-4 common Rule34 themes.

As long as it isn't too mean-spirited Pinkie can take a good joke.

I just saw another awesome detail:

You know how Pinkie shouldn't have been able to play her tuba with no mouth? The animators thought of that, and there's a small airbag attached to the mouthpiece that Pinkie's squeezing with her cheek to play the instrument. waii

I find it interesting that Cathy Weseluck got credit for voicing Spike and the Mayor, when Mayor Mare didn't have any lines. tongue

@Lurker: Pinkie's horn never had a standard mouthpiece, ever since her ensemble's debut in Swarm she always had the air bladder to work the horns.

Maybe she did in a deleted scene.

We totally need an episode about Mayor Mare and her quest to finish her paperwork.tongue

Well, Trixie "got better" a bit too fast, but that probably has more to do with time limits than anything. Otherwise a good episode.

I'd personally like to see her be a recurring character, but hey.

I'm overall satisfied with it, though, since they managed to keep Trixie true to character even when apologizing. She more or less incapable of being humble in the slightest.

Yeah, I liked that. Trixie is usually at her best in fanworks when whatever development she gets is still accented by a hammy ego. If anything, Rarity's shown us that's not necessarily a bad thing [lol] It's not quite as amazingly fun as Lunaverse Trixie, but it's about as close as the show could realistically have gotten.
