@Sereg: Fair enough, since your fanon has different pantheons for each species. Mine doesn't - though even if it did I'm not sure I actually consider the changelings a different species so much as just another subspecies of pony(If that, honestly. The line of thinking that puts Chrysalis as the ex-goddess of love has her basically keeping the changelings alive under her own power, which is why she needs a constant fuel of love for them. They feed on love that they give to her that she turns into life energy for them.)

@Kyler: I think we are. I think that right now we're back to discussing Cadance's nature.

I actually intend to have a flashback scene later in my fanfic series to just after Cadance and Shining's engagement where Celestia discusses it with them to make sure they understand what the marriage will mean when it's between a unicorn and the alicorn of Venus.

Not to mention some very subtle hints of a planetary curve. It's very difficult to dscribe, but the way some extreme distance shots curve indicates the surface of a planet rather than a Golden Sun-esque flatworld.

Potter universe wizards have terrible survival senses and are far less savvy than same-world muggles because of their over-dependance on their declining magics.

And also they completely missed out on the scientific revolution and aren't very creative to start with.

@Storyyeller: True. But I don't think it's that wierd. I think it's: Sun and moon go round the Earth. Everything else goes round the sun.

We've known that the planet's round from several sources. Multiple globes and Pudding Head. Yes, it's Pudding Head, but still.

Again,

Equestria's planet is an anomaly caused by overuse of magic, and has trouble functioning without outside forces. Celestia does nothing more than help the rotation of the planet.

I'd think Earth Pony innate magic can make it so that plants can grow by moonlight.

I like to think that they can grow trees without dirt, water, or sunlight, if they try hard enough.

I'm personally not sure whether I think there's even a pantheon at all.

There's a reason I've been putting it in commas. I don't think they're actually gods. Just the ruling members of there respective species who are more powerful and have power over a certain concept.

Yes, but eternal night would have resulted in genocide due to everyone dying of cold and famine.

my headcanon states that NMM, being insane with power and all, really wasn't thinking that far ahead.

This also explains the impossibility of eternal night for a round planet. It would just be daytime on the other side! but once again, she wasn't thinking clearly.

I figured she removed the sun as a factor to make it night time everywhere. Whether by putting something in front of it or just extinguishing it I do not know.
