I'm just to say that I'll be disappearing for a day it two to finish my Uni work. But I'll be back in time for the new episode.

Oh, I agree that anyone who thought that Celestia was omnipotent from even the first episode were a bit... er... confused.

And yeah, as I edited in. I'm not claiming that the show proves my view. Merely that I have reason for believing it.

On the whole Sombra Vs Celestia and Luna leaving no marks thing: Have we all forgotten that the Crystal Empire was sealed away as a result of that fight? That kinda seems like a mark to me.

On Nightmare Moon's goal being genocide: It wasn't, her goal was to make it night forever and for ponies to have to see it.

On Power Levels: I don't think Celestia could destroy the planet in a thought, but I do think that she along with the other Alicorns is extraordinarily powerful.

On Cadance: Headcanon is that she's the fairly recent reincarnation of the Alicorn that represents Venus.

@Ace: Maybe Rarity has been inducted into his spy ring, and THAT'S why Fancy Pants was in Ponyville 2 episodes ago.

Yes, but eternal night would have resulted in genocide due to everyone dying of cold and famine.

@ Librarian: I'd think Earth Pony innate magic can make it so that plants can grow by moonlight.

I basically agree with Badwolf (though I of course, think Celestia's more powerful) and I think of Cadance as less of being the reincarnation and more as having taken the role of alicorn of Venus. Not all of them were as nice as she is.

EDIT:Eeyup. Same with all alicorns. Including Celestia and Luna (they've had it for much longer than she has of course).

It doesn't quite fit, but it's fairly close.

@Ace: That's how I see it. In fact, I actually think she took the position over from Chryslis, who was previously corrupted and so couldn't fill the role anymore.

My position is that when one of the ten Alicorns (One for each of the planets barring Earth, one for Pluto, one for the moon and one for the sun) die, they get reincarnated and said reincarnation can eventually grow to hold the same level of power. Not sure whether the reincarnation happens during conception of the foal or birth or inbetween.

Myself, I don't suscribe quite to that because Alicorns are genetically possible but very rare according to my fanon. Of course, exceptionally powerful Alicorns are even rarer, lol, although a few like Cadance get lucky in the Super Power Lottery and get a completely hax talent that supplements their magical ability.

Made a edit. Though I think that Chrysalis is still part of the changeling "pantheon".

She's the hive monarch of neediness. (Admittedly, I based this heavily on Titanomarchy. Though there, Cadance and Chrysalis are sisters. They're also Discord's daughters. Celestia and Luna's actual neices as well as their half-sisters.)

EDIT: I basically agree with Badwolfwho, though it's not necessary for all ten positions to be filled all the time.

Celestia actually controls the rotation of the planet, while Luna controls the orbit of the moon

There is air in space around the Equestrian planet, which is why they can't just start those up and forget about it.

I like to imagine that there is an underground cabal of cultist nobles who plan to create their own Princess Alicorn through forbidden blood eugenics.
