I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to Magic Duel or not... Trixie was fun enough but I don't really tend to think of her much, and I worry that this could sort of turn into playing to the fandom... but, I've enjoyed the season thus far, and three episodes is enough to call it a pattern. We'll see how it goes. they could make it work, I know.

@Kyler Those jokes are still funny regardless of your affiliation to the fandom, so I'm not really seeing the issue. Besides, if they were really pandering with Trixie, they'd make her all sad and repentant, not a full-fledged villain.

What he means is that they wanted to do the "Pinkie turns into an older-gen face" even before the show became popular; they didn't create that gag to pander to the adult fans.

And like Perpetual said, pandering isn't too big of a deal as long as the jokes are still funny when you aren't aware of the fanbase. You could be completely unaware of the fandom at large and the finger-growing joke would still be funny.

I'm usually not a big fan of being pandered to, but some of the gags, as has been mentioned are pretty amusing. References to the Looney Tunes and Pe Pe Le Pew, Derpy, Lebowski and the other movie.clasic animation references are fine with me.

I don't think that's so much pandering as fandom awareness in that case, but yeah. I do enjoy a small amount of it.
