And yeah, my headcanon is that the Pinkie clones are just magical constructs that imitate the subject rather than entities in their own right. Once they get sent back to the pool they revert to being magic, none the worse for wear.

What are the odds the ponies will use the cloning pool against a got-better Sombra in the season finale?

So I'm thinking about how creepy Twilight Sparkle can get here: Way back in s1 ep1 she's a loner who blows people off while obsessing over doomsday prophecy. Then she casually either copies or already has a spell only otherwise possessed by an enraged dark god, whom she coolly charges at with every obvious intention of goring. Later, she turns mice into horses- we never find out why, exactly, but this seems to freak out her friends. She'll happily invade someone's mind to mush memories into them (totally justified, i know...but just the fact that she can do that...yikes). Then she turns pony to stone/banishes from material plane.

Oh yeah, and then she like mind controls a whole town in a fit of insanity.

Her possessiveness towards her brother comes off more than a little creepy too. Like, in a no wonder her sister-in-law insisted on moving far far away kind of way. Then she's like:Dark magic, see once, copy without difficulty. Like, why is that so easy for her?

And now we've got her practicing a potentially dangerous polymorph spell outside to work on her aim, followed by her casually annihilating dozens of ponies, or at least pony like intelligences on the grounds that they are a nuisance.

I don't think she invaded any minds, and the whole "banishing/turning to stone" thing was a group effort, but yeah, Twilight could be real dangerous if she wanted. That's why Celestia is so big on the whole "friendship" thing.

JT you just gave me an idea for a villain...former pupil of celestia gone very very wrong.

That was a feint - she charged Nightmare so Nightmare would charge her and allow her to teleport to the elements.

I wonder how the episode would've played out if some other pony stumbled onto that lake knowing the legend, ...

But what if it had been Rainbow Dash or Rarity, especially Rarity, hell I'd love have seen what Applejack would do.

That said this is the best episode in the season so far, and the first one of such caliber since Debut of Daring Do

I do like that idea, maybe related to the Crystal Empire finale since that's where the show could be going.
