So, Scootaloo can fly in the game, but a Royal Pegasus Guard needs magic butterfly wings?
He can fly under his own power, but he was so enamored of Rarity in Sonic Rainboom that he wanted to become fabulous too.

@Calnos: Maybe his armor gets in the way of his wings or something.
Maybe he took pity on Scootaloo and gave her his ability to fly.

Doorknobs are actually a remarkably simple yet effective security measure for a unicorn castle.
Round door knobs? Eh, we put our hoof on it and turn.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
@David: Colin's computer took some time getting use to, but I found a way to type using my wings.

Those lever-style door handles would probably be better suited for hooves than the round ones.
@Ace: Our typewriters are a bit interesting when compared to yours. As you know there are only 2 buttons, but here's the thing, each button has half of the characters. Think of it like this, you know how your computers have that nub thing in the F and J keys? Imagine a button that can perform all of the characters left or right of that nub. To explain how that works, each button has a set amount of clicks. The left button, for example, goes like this; one click gets you the letter A, the second click gets B, third gets C and so on.
Does that help?
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
I learned to type on a refurbished Underwood manual typewriter from the 1920s. I still have it. I swear it weighs about 50 pounds. Those things were built to last!

E Ps and Pegasi could use doorknobs, it's just not as easy.
