There wasn't enough time or room for Cadance to get a running start to fly fast enough, also she was exhausted from maintaining the Love Barrier. However, Shiny's still around, and she can do ramjet-assisted takeoffs, and even without magic he's a big, strong stallion...

More like cargo cult leftovers from when Megan visited old Ponyland in pre-classical times. Some of Glory, Sparkler, Twi-Twinkle, and G1 Applejack's records survived the test of time.

Applejack, Sweet Apple Acres failing, all becuase she wasn't a good farmer, the trees not growing apples, nopony liking anything that does grow, her family blaming her for it and kicking her off the farm

RD the Wonderbolts telling her she'd never be one of them, that she sucks, isn't as awesome as she thinks, just a no good talentless pony that isn't worthy of them

Rarity, all the high class and important fashion ponies criticizing her dresses, her skill, calling her a talentless hack.

I think we've seen all their worst fear scenarios within the series, actually. The door just needs to exaggerate a little.

AJ's was The Last Roundup. RD's was Sonic Rainboom. Fluttershy's was Putting Your Hoof Down. Pinkie's was Party of One. Rarity's was... um... actually, I'm not sure.

do you think if they went with the Magic Girl format of the original patch that the crystallization versions of the mane six would've been part of a super mode or something? you know something like

The real reason Chrysalis was powerful enough to defeat Celestia and the reason Cadence looked so disheveled in the underground caves. You have three guesses, the first two don't count.

@ Hero, there was NEVER any "magical girl" type pitch, the show was NEVER envisioned as being anything other then what it is. The only change was it was originally supposed to be about 50/50 adventure episodes, such as Dragonshy and the two parters, and Slice of Life episodes. And it wasn't Executive Meddling that made them change it, just simple math, it ended up taking to long and costing to much to do the adventure episodes versus the Slice of Life ones and so they ended up not able to do as many as they originally wanted.
