Time for my fanfic report! Dear Thread Manor...
I have some of crossovers today, and a not crossover.
League of Discord
, a crossover with
League of Legends. Some junior summoners working for the League botch a summoning spell and send 6 champions to Equestria. They enlist the aid of Tia/Luna and her school for unicorns to return them home. However, Discord, sensing that some of these champions may be just the break he needs, has other plans...
The Redemption of Jericho Swain
, a sequel to the League of Discord-still ongoing. Using the girls and their elements, they did manage a spell to send the champions back to Runeterra. Unfortunately, the spell also took the girls. Now, the girls, trapped in a strange, fairly dangerous world, and humanized, must find a way back to Equestria. They have to aid of a number of other champions, but one champion, a prophet of the Void, seems to have other plans for them.
These 2 were real fun to read! The sequel in particular is way up there on my list of crossovers, purely because it's the girls in another verse, humanized. Well, mostly humanized, Dash and Flutters till have their wings. As opposed to most crossovers that have other characters in Equestria, often ponyfied. Author does a good job giving enough background if you haven't played the game,
or even if you have.
Zer0 H0ur
, a crossover with
Borderlands2 -still ongoing. Lilith botches a phase shift and Zer0 finds himself a pony in Equestria. How will the emotionless, professional assassin adapt to this world where violence and death are largely unknown?
a fun story, largely comedy with some action. Not much more to say, I did enjoy it, but it hasn't really stood out to me in any particular way.
Justice Itself
, crossover with
Diablo -still ongoing. Tyreal, Archangel of Justice, upon shattering the World Stone at Mt. Areat, has his essences blasted right out of Sanctuary and across the plane of Pandemonium. He crash lands in Equestria, near death and too far from the High Heavens to be reborn from the Shining Arch. Tia and Luna make him mortal shell, a pony body, for his angelic spirit to reside in while he recovers his strength so he may return to Sanctuary. Until then, he is sent to Ponyville to adapt, both to a world where the forces of Hell have no foothold, and to being mortal. But things are never quite so easy...
This one was great! Just the right mix of slice of life and action/adventure, at least for me. Also very good at giving backstory for those who haven't played Diablo before.
and finally, the not crossover!
Twilight and the Spartan Stallion
. Twilight, while visiting the Canterlot museum, accidentally breaks of a piece of a statue of a Spartan pony, so she throws a quick restoration spell at it to fix it. However, it's not a statue, it's an actual Spartan stallion, Spartan Shield, who was petrified by a spell at the last battle against the forces of Nightmare Moon 1000 years ago. And Twilights restoration spell does more than just mend the piece of statue she broke off. Now, Spartan Shield, under orders from Her Immortal Shining Majesty, must go to Ponyville with Twilight and adapt to life in the current times, where Equestria has no enemies, no more need for warrior ponies like Spartan Shield.
I'm usually not a fan of
Fish Out of Temporal Water plots, but this one really pulled it off! It had me grinning like an idiot!
