Changelings probably have a similar form of Wind Element as the pegasi, so they can create the same air-repulsion field that expands beyond their physical wings.

I already posted this WMG in the yackfest thread, but: 
Changelings don't exist entirely in the same time-space manifold as the Mane Six. So they don't have holes, but they do have portions of their mass that exist in a different dimension.
