You know, I'm only now getting to the whole Twilight X Eeyore thing people were talking about. It's a bit odd, since they didn't go with the obvious pony, but we've already proven she is rather anathema to donkeys so I guess Twilight is more appropriate.

no, ima have to agree with Mousa on this one. There's a difference between helping to stop world hunger(something largely invisible to most people, out of sight out of mind and all that) and stopping the sun and moon from playing tag. Everypony whose anypony is going to know that was happening, and are going to want to know the who/what/why around how that got resolved.

The upper class are fully aware of what happened with the girls. Just as they are aware, on a level that the common pony is not, of everything that goes on within and without the country. Every disaster recorded, every monster watched, every country observed. But the upper class can't SHOW what they know, lest they upset the citizens. They have to keep it quiet. Equestria's peace, tumultuous as it is, lies on the citizens remaining unaware of just how fragile the country truly is.

Right, silly fanon out of the way, about that MAD video... I actually kinda want to see that. Like, the whole story. It would be pretty interesting, and I gotta admit Twilight and Eeyore together are cute. Eeyore is my favorite of the Pooh Gang, I think.

If I remember correctly, the last couple of times we saw royal guards they were soundly getting their asses kicked.

Well to be fair, even the mane 6 was overcome by Changelings.

First time "Oh no! Teh Nightmare Moon!"

Second time: "Oh no, Teh changlinglinglinglings!"

They guards only real skill appears to be standing still and being intimidating.

You really expect people other then the mane characters dealing with a situation? That's like asking a Starfleet security officer tom actually come back alive from an away mission.

Yeah, but they could have at least accomplished something. Slowing them down maybe, until the Elements arrived. I mean these are supposed to be the best Equestria has to offer - they could have at least been of some help in the scheme of things.

The guards are just for dealing with ordinary pony riffraff like paparazzi and snobs.

They're bodyguards, not some kind of standing army. I doubt the have the numbers to do anything of significance against a swarm.
