-Note to self, don't say no to muffins-
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
@keg: So, what then, she'll never be able to fly?
Muffins.
Bastard gives you 500 calories.
As I find so much pleasure in that melts like my breath, I am always full of regret.
500 calories? That's like a snack.

So, for now it is canon that Scootaloo cannot fly like other pegasi.

She has been able to sort of hover a bit, so maybe she'll get a bit better as she gets older. What she really needs is an episode where Rainbow helps train her.
If that happens, within a couple hours someone will make a PMV of Make a Man Out of You.
As I find so much pleasure in that melts like my breath, I am always full of regret.
@D Roy: It's canon that she can't fly now. We have no idea whether that implies that she'll never be able to fly. I mean, we never see Sweetie using magic, and I don't think we've ever seen any other pegasi of that age flying outside of RD's cutie mark flashback.
@JT - I sure hope you are correct.
As I find so much pleasure in that melts like my breath, I am always full of regret.
Re Scootaloo. I actually really like that, if you do interpret Scoots as disabled in the show, canon itself doesn't draw attention to it. Even though she's probably the least developed of the CMC, there's still more to her character than "the token disabled pony".
What I think would be cool is either: (A) Have another character mention in passing, exactly once, that Scoots probably will never be able to fly. Then
never bring it up again in-show, and have Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle continue treating Scoots the same as before. OR (B) If they do go with an episode focusing on Scoots' disability, balance it out by having another Scootisode in which her disability is not mentioned once.
I just think Scoots being disabled but also happy and well-adjusted is a lot more interesting than Scoots filled with angst over being disabled.
The portable Venus of occupied space. Grace is a maze of amazing taste.
I like the idea that they might just not make a big deal out of it.
I'm still in the camp that thinks Scoot should not be disabled, if only for meta/fandom reasons.
@Meta: I really like that first idea actually. That sounds way better than shows that go out of their way to make a big deal about how a character is handicapped but that doesn't define them. It usually comes across as trying too hard.
At this point, I am fine with either as long as the writers handle it well.
I might as well as flip a coin.
As I find so much pleasure in that melts like my breath, I am always full of regret.
@Meta: I'd still rather not have her be disabled at all, largely for fandom related reasons, but if they do go with it I hope they use the method you described and don't make a big deal out of it.
What are y'all worried about the fandom doing with her?
I actually would have liked if the show went with the "Scootaloo is disabled" idea, because it would have been alot better and more intreasting then most of the season 2 CMC episodes we got.
Mental image: Scootaloo doing extreme-speed-Parkour all over Ponyville.
I took a guess and cut a portion out of my heart.
He said, "That's nowhere close enough, but it's a damn good start."
Maybe they could just hint at it without stating it outright on the show.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
@Kyler: Why has this not happened?
