I would have never guessed that's supposed to be Fluer. I guess she just doesn't have distinctive traits.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
I didn't look at the picture, I'll have to take your word for it.
the obviously fake Did Not Do the Research Chrysalis.
??
Please elaborate.
Chrysalis was good enough to fool everypony except Twilight.
She was good enough to fool everyone who didn't know her. The one that did, Shining Armor, she had hypnotized. It's not as hard to fool people who don't know you as it is to do those who do, or at least have passing knowledge of your life. A great example is in the book Where Eagles Dare.
With proper research their mimicry would have been an almost perfect disguise. IF Chrysalis put any effort into actually acting like Cadence. She did play the confrontation very well, I'll give her that.
On a side note: the main chars in dresses when Twilight runs into them with news... are they changelings?
Und wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein.
@Syd: I think it works like that, too.
My personal headcanon is that Chrysalis had been acting like Cadence, but she really hated it, and used the "wedding stress" as an excuse to act more and more bitchy. By the time Twilight arrived, she just couldn't be arsed to keep up the act because literally every other pony involved didn't see anything but a bride under a lot of pressure. Heck, even with her lack of effort to fool Twi, her plan still would have gone off as planned if Twilight hadn't found the real Cadance imprisoned in the mine.
@Sinclair: Those are good ships that I support as well, though I also support contradictory ships and have for longer (my first ship for the show was actually Spike/Fluttershy, though the one I support the most is RD/AJ as to me, they act like they're already married).
Unity of the Sun Mare
I like a ton of contradiciary ships. In fact, the only ships I do like that arn't contradicted by another ship I like are Lyra/Bonbon and Vinyl Scratch/Octavia.

Oh come on, Spike/Rarity is as close to canon as can be. I don't see a problem with supporting a ship after it "wins" (gets elevated to Canon OTP). Of course I might have misunderstood what you said.

Define contradictory.

Und wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein.
My headcanon is that the offspring of a pony and a dragon is a draconequus, so I don't know how I feel about Spike/Rarity.
I think the
Moral Guardians would go insane if any of the ships became canon.

I am and always will be the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes and dreamer of improbable dreams.
@Perpetual Lurker: I'l admit that in some cases, I'm more "entertaining the idea of a ship" as you put it, but in other cases (Spike/Rarity most particularly) I actively want them to become canon. In my mind, Spike deserves to finallly earn a relationship with her.
Unity of the Sun Mare
I don't believethat Spike/Rarity is entirely one-sided. I believe that the evidence states that Rarity is starting to become more open to the idea ever since the events of Secret of My Excess.

The show is about friendship.

I think the only pair that actually showed full-on romantic love are Cadence and Shining Armor, and that was in the last episode with them getting married, so it's not like we really have a gauge.
