I would have never guessed that's supposed to be Fluer. I guess she just doesn't have distinctive traits.

the obviously fake Did Not Do the Research Chrysalis.

??

Please elaborate.

Chrysalis was good enough to fool everypony except Twilight.
She was good enough to fool everyone who didn't know her. The one that did, Shining Armor, she had hypnotized. It's not as hard to fool people who don't know you as it is to do those who do, or at least have passing knowledge of your life. A great example is in the book Where Eagles Dare.

With proper research their mimicry would have been an almost perfect disguise. IF Chrysalis put any effort into actually acting like Cadence. She did play the confrontation very well, I'll give her that.

On a side note: the main chars in dresses when Twilight runs into them with news... are they changelings?

Never read the book, but The Movie of Where Eagles Dare is awesome.

Clint Eastwood is so the man.

Heh heh... They were "Fighting strangers in the Alps."

When they're all excited that they're the new bridesmaids? They're the real ponies.

My headcanon is that changelings aren't really capable of love, or even affection. They just take love, instead of giving.

My personal headcanon is that Chrysalis had been acting like Cadence, but she really hated it, and used the "wedding stress" as an excuse to act more and more bitchy. By the time Twilight arrived, she just couldn't be arsed to keep up the act because literally every other pony involved didn't see anything but a bride under a lot of pressure. Heck, even with her lack of effort to fool Twi, her plan still would have gone off as planned if Twilight hadn't found the real Cadance imprisoned in the mine.

@Sinclair: Those are good ships that I support as well, though I also support contradictory ships and have for longer (my first ship for the show was actually Spike/Fluttershy, though the one I support the most is RD/AJ as to me, they act like they're already married).

"Supporting" a ship never made much sense to me. I bet that the vast majority of the people supporting any given ship between main characters would be rather put off if said ship actually became canon. Can you really support something if you don't want it to be canon?

Entertaining the idea of a ship, on the other hand, makes sense. It can be fun to work in hypotheticals.

I like a ton of contradiciary ships. In fact, the only ships I do like that arn't contradicted by another ship I like are Lyra/Bonbon and Vinyl Scratch/Octavia.

[up][up] Oh come on, Spike/Rarity is as close to canon as can be. I don't see a problem with supporting a ship after it "wins" (gets elevated to Canon OTP). Of course I might have misunderstood what you said.

EDIT: [up] Define contradictory.

@ Lurker: I must disagree with you there. I personally would be happy if a ship I supported became canon. Surprised, but happy.

[up] Appledash and Flutterdash I'd guess as an example.

My headcanon is that the offspring of a pony and a dragon is a draconequus, so I don't know how I feel about Spike/Rarity.

I think the Moral Guardians would go insane if any of the ships became canon.

@Sinclair: Stuff like how I like Twidash and Pinkiedash almost equally, along with liking most mane 6 pairings in general. Appledash, Rarijack, Rarishy Fluttertwi, Twipie, the list goes on and on. Their are two ways to solve these sort of shipping deliemas:

1:OT3's.

2: Seperate fanfics revolving around a diffrent pairing eatch fic.

[down]Also this too. I like shipping for the cute pics and charector interactions. Too bad that most shipping fics tend to suck. tongue

@Perpetual: I can't speak for anybody else, but when I say that I support a ship, I just mean that I think the idea of a certain two characters having a romantic relationship would be interesting. It honestly doesn't have anything to do with canon. For instance, my favorite ship is Twijack not because I think there's any evidence for it in the show (there really isn't), but because I like the way Twilight and Applejack might interact in that circumstance. The reason I wouldn't want it to happen in the show is exactly because there's no indication that it would. It's just fun to think about the hypothetical scenario.

I do like to keep them in character of course, but it's less "they're totally into each other" and more "if they were into each other, I think they'd act like this".

@Perpetual Lurker: I'l admit that in some cases, I'm more "entertaining the idea of a ship" as you put it, but in other cases (Spike/Rarity most particularly) I actively want them to become canon. In my mind, Spike deserves to finallly earn a relationship with her.

@Sinclair

Canon ships are a whole different beast, since they're, well, canon. Spike/Rarity is entirely one-sided, though, as Spike's been about as effectively friend-zoned as you can get. I'm talking about things like TwiDash and the like that would make things extremely weird if they actually became canon.

@Bad

Would you really want a romantic relationship between any two of the main six in canon? I would make the whole group dynamic really weird, IMO.

@Everyone Else

I guess I'm just being pedantic. The choice of words is all that bothers me.

I don't believethat Spike/Rarity is entirely one-sided. I believe that the evidence states that Rarity is starting to become more open to the idea ever since the events of Secret of My Excess.

[up][up][up] The show is about friendship. tongue I think the only pair that actually showed full-on romantic love are Cadence and Shining Armor, and that was in the last episode with them getting married, so it's not like we really have a gauge.

I admit that romance plots kind of bore me most of the time.

I like that this show mostly avoids it.
