The lack of originality is why I took them down.
I thought there was potential in them.
Maybe I just haven't been viewing the right fanworks, but in all the other "canon events, but darker and edgier!" fanstuff, friendship always seems to be one of the first casualties. The mane six always seem to distrust or outright hate each other in these sorts of works, whereas in
MLP: BAMF, the mane six are still a squad. They mock each other, cuss up a storm, and hint at severe psychological trauma, but they still have each other's backs, and care deeply about each other (even if some of them would sooner die than say so out loud).
If you can maintain that kernal of decency, while introducing more original material (rather than just taking the original scripts and adding cusses), I think the results would be worth reading.
But you'd probably want to finish season 2 first. So you can fully understand how crazy the characters are in canon.
Closer than your breath. Quicker than the hands of death. Closer.
