I've only seen one or two of the .MOV things. I was unimpressed.

The only ones I watched were APPLE and SPIKE, both incredibly boring.

Connie: I owe my love of classic cinema to my dad, too. I'm amazed yours let you watch The Thing at age 9. I think that's about the age I saw The Thing From Another World and found it kind of frightening. Yeah, I was a wimp. I think I saw the Donald Sutherland version of Invasion of the Body-Snatchers about the same time.

Journalism is just a gun. It's only got one bullet in it, but if you aim right, that's all you need.

There's a ponified version of that out, it's called First Week of Winter.

Well the fist part was a ponification of it, latest two chapters, it's gotten wierd.

I looked up what the guy says at the beginning, and it totally gives it away if you speak Norwegian! [lol]

It's when you sit in the family room with the lights off and watch Kurt Russell movies, and your mom yells at you from the kitchen to turn it down or turn a light on and your dad ignores her.

You forgot the part about exchanging electrons.

What's he say?

@ Turtlebutter: That's utterly bizarre

Get the hell outta there. That's not a dog, it's some sort of thing! It's imitating a dog, it isn't real! Get away, you idiots!

[up]Ahh, yeah that does kind of spoil everything.

[down]Possibly. Probably when I mentioned a piece of art that recreates the Crab/spider-head scene with Fluttershy's head.

Didn't we go through a discussion of The Thing here earlier?

Surprise rolls on her back and kicks up a yarn ball. The yarn ball bounces sideways and rolls off into the thread, nearly hitting storyyeller.

Don't let that hit you! That's not a yarn ball, that's a BOMB!!!

@story: It's just such a great movie.

And this is such a good scene!

I'm not big on gore or horror movies, but I have to admit that that one was pretty sweet.

I am a fan of certain kinds of horror. Stuff like Saw and The Blair Witch Project is not my cup of tea, but I like monster movies.

Don't worry, I have a magical resistance to yarn.

Eh, don't care that much for Saw. I'm much more of a fan of ghost stories or Psychological Horror. I absolutely loved The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and Ingmar Bergman's Vargtimmen. Monster movies are also perfectly acceptable.

I liked The Thing, but mostly for the Paranoia Fuel.

If you want terrifying, read 1984. The more you think about that book, the creepier it gets.
If you want any of my avatars, just pm me!

If you can find an avatar of a reptile sleeping in a nice hat, I would very much appreciate it

@Dren and ATC: Yeah, I like those, too.

My mom once tried to watch The Movie of 1984 with us, and she couldn't do it — she had to leave.

1984 was certainly a terrifying year. We nearly got eaten by the Smooze and everything!

@JT - I have, actually.

I actually feel a bit sorry for Sweetie Belle.
