I bet there are cultists of Lord Smooze as well.

"This is your cult leader, Fluttershy. Praise Smooze."

@Count: Ha, I love Hark! A Vagrant.

[up] When I"m good enough, I'm gonna try to translate Hellfire into Latin.

@condo: Apart from that Sex Pistols thing and your taste in poetry, I am becoming increasingly convinced that you are secretly me.

I know The Sex Pistols suck.

I like them anyway.

I wonder how did Fluttershy ended up becoming a cult leader.

This should be taken to its own thread, though.

Hellfire into Latin? Connie, you are way too cool.smile

Interesting fact: there is no ponified art of the Sex Pistols on page one of Google Image Search.

Luckily, there IS ponified art of Agatha Heterodyne.

@Dren: I've only got a week of Latin down, but give me time.

@Count: What is that from? If you like it, I'm sure I will.

[up] Agatha is from Girl Genius, an excellent webcomic by Phil and Kaja Foglio.

Heck yeah, another Latin geek! I took two years of it in back in high school, and I wish I'd stuck with it.

Yeah, Girl Genius is great fun. I ought to get back to reading it, but I've been busy with The Unwritten and The Sixth Gun.

Yeah, I'm minoring in classics. It's pretty much awesome.

By the way, I don't think anyone has ever even remotely come close to describing me as "cool." That kinda made my day.

What about "Sic semper tyrannosaurus?"

I'd love to see John Wilkes Booth assassinate a dinosaur.

the blink-and-you-miss-it funeral in Hearts and Hooves Day, which could easily be secular
Well, Mr. Waddle was wearing a clerical collar, but I suppose there's technically no guarantee that those have the same meaning in the MLPFiM universe that they do in Real Life.

[up][up][up][up] The image of the Earth being struck by a giant actor made of stone is in the top three weirdest thoughts I've had today.

And given that the other two were about Nobilis that's not a bad score.

I've been meaning to make a go of Nobilis, most of my usual group think the concept is too weird.

because it's an awesome picture, here's that Iron Will Pic again

Discord's ship wouldn't only be upside-down, it would skim the surface so that most of the ship was underwater except the part that is usually the bottom, which would be shaped like a giant shark fin. And just when frightened ponies started to relax, realizing it's just the bottom of a boat, his crew of flying sharks (that swim in the air as well as the water) would pop out of the water and attack!
And the only way to defeat them is to jump over them.

I'm trying to figure out how to pre-order the Season One set without letting her know I'm a brony. I don't think it can be done. I can't exactly say it's for someone else.
Tell her you lost a bet?

Now that I know I did not, um, I dunno, we can make up some fanon pony religions or something.
The Stranger and Her Friend introduced a pantheon of pony deities in the chapter "Miracles". They all fell out of popular favor after Celestia's rise to power—Celly herself is just about the only pony who still worships them.
Apocalypse is the first letter of the alphabet.

[up][up] I'm currently in the intersection of "really tripping on the desire to get Nobilis" and "in a state where I cannot make any online purchases for the rest of the year, and have sworn off Internet piracy (which is evil)".

So I'm trying to back-engineer it from rpgnet threads. I consider this an acceptable way of wasting my time.
