Does anyone know some good Flutter Dash fic?

It's not really shipping, but Off the Edge of the Map

is a whole ton of dash/flutters interaction as they're the only main characters.

Re: Cover images

Yeah, I realize that a good cover image is important, but it kinda frustrates me a bit that some people put so much stock in it, mainly because as somebody who's an author first and foremost, it isn't always possible to have a good cover image. If you can't draw or convince somebody to draw it for you, you're limited to having to find a suitable image on Derpibooru, and if you can't find something good, you're kind of screwed. It's why I try not to put too much stock on the cover.

@Blissey Ponified American Gothic was in the show itself, as a painting hanging on the wall in AJ's house.

As for cover art, it doesn't matter too much to me, but I have to say that seeing a pony-creator OC picture as cover art decreases my interest in the story immensely.

Okay, I lied, I will admit that seeing a zero-effort cover image is worse than having no image because I feel like it shows that they couldn't be bothered to make or find a decent image. I mean, I know firsthand that getting a good image can be a pain, but if you think your story is best represented by a crappy MS Paint OC, it doesn't exactly imply that the story has any level of quality.

It's interesting to experiment with, but it's also rather infamous for serving as a crutch for people who don't want to actually draw.

I agree. The moment I see Generic OC #587 in the exact same position in the exact same shot of Ponyville as the last 586 Generic OC's is when I mentally add that story to my "no, don't even bother" list.

I put extra points to reading fic if it has a personalised image since that means either someone liked it enough to draw something for it, or the author put enough effort to either draw something for it or pay someone else to draw something for it, which suggests a lot of effort in the fic to me.

That's true, although it still implies that somebody who doesn't have the resources to get an image puts less effort in. I suppose it's inevitable though.
