Yeah, I pretty much agree with Mio; I think it fits the setting well enough (especially since we already have Windigo = blizzard), but if we ever get an explanation I doubt that would be it.

Which brings up another question: is there any particular benefit for the ponies to have seasons? I mean, I understand that they might need to vary the weather to keep crops growing properly and whatnot, but is there any real reason they'd want to have three months of cold, snowy weather when they're theoretically capable of keeping the weather nicer than that?

It ages back to the days when the Pegasi felt they weren't being paid enough to manage the weather, in protest of this they intentionally made some of the coldest and most inconvenient weather they could short of tornadoes and stuff. Afterwords when the pay dispute was resolved they still did those three month of winter in order to reinforce that protest. Nowadays it's tradition.

So they have an excuse to sing Winter Wrap Up, of course.

[up][up]By resolved, you mean they nearly starved themselves out and/or forced Earth Pony migration.tongue

Lots of plants and animals base their entire lives around seasonal regularity. Drastically altering the seasons would probably cause an ecological disaster.

Yeah exactly. I think that although Earths can insta-grow plants anywhere, once they are planted, they must be tended to regularly as normal, including the effects of the seasons.

I think to them, pegasus controlling the weather just seems so natural that they don't even think about it.

Yeah, I kinda figured it had to do with keeping the plant cycles and stuff going, but I'm not an ecologist, so I really have no clue. Works for me.

I think they used the wrong body model for that Cadance vector. She's far too bulky, and her wings are lacking that distinctive purple gradient. The new hair styles are cool, but everything just looks kinda... off.

That's the standard Cadence vector for the toyline (with sparkles added in). Yeah, looks just slightly different from what she looks like in the show (particularly her hair). Hasbro can't even get their actual pink princess right!

What have they done to Rainbow's mane? It looks awful.

It's just that the body shape has me thinking she's actually a stallion in drag, while the show model was a lot more like Fleur.

I'm more curious about why they have different hairstyles. Outside of stuff like the gala and the wedding their manes are always the same.

I can imagine Rarity skipping from hoof to hoof at the prospect of being able to give everypony a MAKEOVEEEEEEEER.
