well no wonder it picks up after 4, it seems that the first 4 chapters are the intro and the Noob Cave! They're to busy setting the tone to be interesting! and i must say, just finished chapter 3 and, as a fan of the Fallout games, they are getting the wasteland tone down quite well.

and what an awful choice of perks! 10% more XP gained? That just means you hit the level cap sooner! and then it's a wasted perk!

Oh sweet, yeah if you like fallout the fic is so much better. And really the bigest issue in the early chapters is like you said noob cave. Also a lot of people have issues with some of the more video game like things, which I can see, but I just roll with.

Biggest issue in the early chapters is the shock, it goes out of it's way to show Pip how evil and bad and wrong the wasteland can be, and hence the reader also gets this Far far more unneccesary gore, but never all that much, and it's all after the fact, you don't see it actually happening.

Really the gore parts only show up when Raiders are involved, and by about chapter 15 or so they go from a threat, to cannon fodder that rarely shows up.

Interesting choices they're making on pony versions of characters from the fallout verse. ghoulified Ditzy as Moria Brown makes sense. Nothing gets that mare down! Pinky would have also worked as Moria, I think, though it would have been a bit more of a stretch. I also find it interesting that, despite the setting clearly being fallout 3, they decided on Mr. New Vegas in the form of maybe!Vinyl as the radio announcer instead of Three Dawg(AAWWWOOO!).

well of course. Even then, since it's strongly hinted that Mr. New Vegas is just an AI, I'd expect similar from this.

Anyway, ran into the first thing that really bugs me. The battle one the train with the slavers. I gotta ask, what happened to the caboose? The one filled with all the freed slaves? they disconnected it from the train and...that was it?

I only watched first show (second show is also G1) on YT and its more that just watchable. Its really interesting how concept of "pink pony having party with imaginary friends" can be done.

I think Elements of Harmony is still much better that Rescue in Midnight Castle.

Midnight Castle is still thematically closer to G4 than G3.5. I like to fanonize that G3 and 3.5 were the lowest points in pony civilization, when they forgot everything and then when the dark ages happened, they were mostly lost and only the Three Tribes survived.

I like voice acting, maybe some times voices of ponies or Spike can be annoying or ponies sound to similar but beyond that it dont have much problems. G3 and G3.5 however have poor acting.

Good thing Lauren and the Studio Formerly Known as B stepped up to make G4 such a well-polished product, then :D

There's an episode about a crooked talent agent from the older series I wouldn't mind seeing again in Season 3, or perhaps modernized Flories.

(Speaking as someone who talks about Project Horizons all the time ) Discussion of the original is quite welcome in the FoE thread — especially if it involves new readers and their takes on the story. I think the focus on PH is down to the fact that it's still ongoing, while the original has been finished for quite some time now.
