@Dorku: I say they're too used to their highly-successful climate engineering program now.

Hey, they do better than we do at managing the climate.

All this suggests that there was a cataclysmic disaster long ago and the ponies are managing the world manually because much of was rendered uninhabitable or too hostile for them.

my headcannon is that this is what Discords reign did. Before discord, everything happened naturally, including the sun and moon moving by themselves. Discord fucked with reality so hard during his reign, that everything had to be set under manual control after he was defeated.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkGwqsrfEeI I think it should be Scout instead Sniper here.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

@Blissey: That's not quite right either, since the unicorns were responsible for the sun and moon before Celestia and Luna showed up. Remember Hearth Warming's Eve? None of the alicorns or Discord seemed to have been around at the time.

Post of the Day #124

It's not incoherent, it's just really complicated. And yeah, the beginning is tough to get through, especially if you aren't familiar with the format. Like I said before, I tried and failed twice to get into it. It's a good series, but I'm not gonna lie, you have to work for it a bit. The author is a pretty big believer in Viewers Are Geniuses. I didn't pick up on a lot of things until I reread it.

I'm still waiting for the episode where she breaks rhyme as a gag.

She's broken rhyme several times but it's never been mentioned.

I maintain that the events told in hearthswarming eve have, over time, diverged from what things were really like in some small ways. That being one of them.

That being one of them.

One thing I wonder is how much the historical characters were actually like the Mane 6's personalities.

Hmmm. I wonder just how related the Mane Six are to the lead characters of the Hearth Warming play.

I don't think they're related genetically, since that'd be a huge coincidence.

Good morning everyone.
Journalism is just a gun. It's only got one bullet in it, but if you aim right, that's all you need.

Hm... Let's see, Twi is clearly Herbert West, which is a pretty good fit; Dashie is Chuckie, AJ is Leatherface, Rarity as Dracula, Pinkie as Freddie, and 'Shy as Sadako. I think the two weakest thematic fits are probably Dashie and Pinkie. But it's still pretty cute nonetheless.

A mighty fine rendition of Dashie.

To be honest... I am a little bit disappoint. The thing that makes Touhou really Touhou is frilly outfits. Where are my frilly outfits?

(edit: This isn't worth a long-winded Spanish Inquisition joke.)

Next question: How would Pinkie react to the Spanish Inquisition. She might actually expect it.

On abridged series: I find Friendship is Witchcraft to be long winded and most of it I don't find very funny, in the early days it was okay but they seem to have dried their well of jokes. Mentally Advanced on the other hand I love, I find it hilarious and I love the other projects the maker does (Rainbow Dash Presents, Allen Hour, Remarkable Demarkus and that Dwarves comic).

On weather: My headcanon is that the natural order is something living has to make it happen has always been in place and is in place everywhere. The Everfree is the unnatural part of their world not the natural part caused by the titanic clash between Celestia and Luna.

On Hearth's Warming Eve: I doubt things happened exactly like that since it was a play and all.

Really? With the exception of Lunar Slander, I thought that it's gotten a lot better. The raincloud part was brilliant. Also it has great songs.

I really did not like Raincloud. The songs are just about the only plus point for me now.

Weather has to happen naturally in areas without pegasi, too, like Appleooosa. They just don't get much due to being in a desert and all.

Also, why is it that whenever someone says that they like something, people have to come out and say "Well, I didn't like it, " as if they're correcting the person who does like it.
