My headcannon is that Fluttershy is beautiful more because of the way that she carries herself, her mannerisms, and her shyness than physical characteristics. Just the way she breathes, the way she will crouch and try to be as small as possible, it's all so adorable.

Not that she's not physically pretty.

Well, if Fluttershy spends most of her time with animals, shouldn't she be muddy and have a few sticks in her mane, maybe some leaves in her tail. At least, that's how I imagine her.

Can one be beautiful without keeping up appearences with makeup, nice clothes, all that? Is there a trope for that.

Wow, there are some really good pictures of Fluttershy on DA. I think this is my new mental image of her as an actual pony.

Fluttershy looks very pretty in a dress.

This Fluttershy makes me wish that the creators had this kind of design for baby ponies instead of the one they actually have.

I like to think that Fluttershy used to be a gangster in the hood until she saw the error of her ways, moved out of the hood, and started trying to do good by looking after the animals in Ponyville and staying out of everyone's way.

Unless there's a later episode that proves that completely wrong.
