Random thought about Lauren Faust.
When I first read about her in Wikipedia, I thought she studied in California Institute of Technology and found it a little odd. Then I learned that it is actually California Institute of Arts, an university founded by none other than Walt Disney himself and produced artists likes of Tim Burton. That explains a lot.
Also, she does NOT look 38.

@ d Roy.
That does explain a lot.
And I know right? She looks like she's barely into her mid twenties.

On the topic of a pony playing the guitar, there is a background pony with an acoustic guitar cutie mark, and he's an earth pony. Off the top of my head, you can see him working at the rodeo in TLR.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

@Applelight: Yeah, that was the episode proving once and for all that Diamond Tiara is the Wicked Witch of Ponyville!
Oh, and speaking of Jerkass characters, I found this comment on the "My Little Pony Wiki" on Gilda:
I realize that the writers haven't acually said this, but here is how I choose to view Dash and Gilda's friendship; I like to think of Gilda the kind of friend who isn't really a friend, but more of an influence. I like to think that when she and Dash were younger she got Dash into pranks and the like, but was basically just leading her down a bad path. Sorry to those who like Gilda, but in my fanon she and Dash weren't really friends even though Dash thought they were - she was that friend that your parents always want you to not be friends with because she'll ruin your life in the long run.
It would explain why Twilight refers to Gilda as a "false friend". Also, it made me realize something: Dash may have taken on more of Gilda's bad qualities than we can begin to imagine. I mean, think about it. She acts obnoxious and rude at times, like Gilda. She was probably given a number of episodes in Season 2 to show that she's shaking off Gilda's influence slowly. In fact, I would ask Rainbow Dash haters to ask themselves if Dash's poor behaviour is really just her way, or if it's Gilda's way.

@Applelight - Ponyville Confidential is actually my favorite episode from season 2, as odd as some of you may find that to be.

@Tiggers I wouldn't say that. From the way they hung out together, it really did look like Gilda was a good friend. Heck, she even participated in that embarrassing cheer. "Only for you, Dash."
She just had problems accepting other ponies who she thought were "lame."

Regarding MMMMystery episode, I can't help but thinking that if only Twilight knew some kind of blood sugar detector spell, the plot would have solved nearly instantly.
I really loved that episode.
