I've been reading What Princesses Need lately. I originally clicked on it expecting nothing more than an eye-rollingly bad clopfic, but it turned out to be something entirely different, and actually really good.

Basically, Nightmare Moon is lingering as a split personality inside Luna and molests Twilight, after which Celestia makes Luna start seeing a psychologist. It actually treats the subject very maturely and realistically, but also has some great humor to break up the seriousness in the right places. It's an exceedingly well-crafted fic.

No, it wouldn't load on my stupid computer. I showed like 12 frames and then stopped. Did I miss something important?

It panned through a brief montage of the manes all smiling, and the last one that showed up was Ruby-Spears Megaman.

Yeah, this was the last pic in the gif.

Reading.

More reading.

Even more reading... sort of.

It's from a notoriously bad Mega Man cartoon in the 90's. It's not quite on the idiot level of the Zelda cartoon (and nowhere near the CDI games), but it was still pretty stupid even for an out-of-nation merchandising cartoon. Of special note, Protoman was a bad guy for some reason — probably because nobody on the staff played all the way through 3 to figure out who the hell he was other than that you fought him a few times thus bad, and it was likely in production before 5 even happened.

It's pretty typical Youtube Poop material.

Mine is "Dress up as Perry the Platypus, '' which I so would if I had a hat like that.

I read that as Pterry and wondered why he was a platypus.

No idea what Mega Man is.

I don't really like Youtube Poops, either.

[up] Do you watch Phineas and Ferb? It's awesome.

ATG repost. Crushing on one of the most eligible mares in Equestria is a step up from pining after a lesbian, right?

No but I do know a platypus is one of the characters.

Perry is seriously the best secret agent ever.

But I think Baljeet is totally my favorite character. Just like with Twi, I always gotta go with the nerd.

You should watch it, though. It's great.

I read that as crushing one of the most eligible mares. I really need to start reading more closely.

someone mentioned Recess earlier, which for some reason always makes me think of Rocket Power, and I thought why haven't I seen any fanart of Rocket Power and Scootaloo? They'd go so well together!

Ha ha, I watched Rocket Power all the time, even though I kinda knew how lame it was. [lol]

Same deal with American Dragon: Jake Long.

Narm Charm goes a long way.

All three of them went rollerblading once. They've tried a lot of extreme sports while crusading.

@condo, re Mega Man: A really, really long-running series of games. Including spinoffs, of which there are many, there are apparently somewhere around 46. They have also had anime and cartoon appearances, I suspect there was at least one comic book, and there are two bands basing their music off the series.

I don't really like Phineas and Ferb, because it seems pretty formulaic at this point.

-What do you want to do today? Something completely impossible for young children! Hey, where's Perry?

-Agent P, Doofenshmirtz is doing something, stop him.

-My brothers are doing something! I should tell my mother!

-We're doing something! Yeah!

-Now, with my new -inator, I will take over the Tri-State area! Oh no, Perry the Platypus!

-Something that brings together the main events of the episode!

-Mom, look! Oh wait, Phineas and Ferb weren't doing anything at all. Oh, there's Perry!

-Ferb says something-

Of course, I could be wrong.

[up] The point is that it's formulaic, but also constantly subverts and lampshades itself that it is consistently funny. That's my opinion, anyway. Tropes Are Not Bad!

Plus, The Wild Thornberries was kind of awesome.

Not to mention the fact that Nigel + anything = hilarious.

Here. Evidence.

Plus, whatever this is.

I think the reason I can live with P&F's plotline xerox when the same thing from Angela Anaconda frustrated me was that most of the characters of the former are likeable to a degree, whereas the latter made my trigger finger itch for some reason.

@condo The subversion has also become pretty formulaic, and I don't expect them to play anything straight.
