And I just provided an entire case to how Pinkie Pie could've been in Vietnam...
I know everyone's been calling it Vietneigh, but I think I prefer Vietnag as the ponified 'Nam.
I think it's mainly controversial because it features an alicorn OC as a main character, with accusations of Mary Sue thrown around a lot. I haven't read it, so I wouldn't know how it is, but it has a huge following, so there has to be something to it.
What's odd is that it's a followup of sorts to the author's
Alan Wake crossover fic
Creeping Darkness. Nyx shows up in the last third of that story (and the way she's introduced makes her
technically not an OC), then the author liked her enough that he decided to write another story, in another continuity, all about her. And apparently (I haven't read
Past Sins myself) Nyx's true nature is the central mystery of the story, even though in
Creeping Darkness the cast finds out right away who and what Nyx is.
MCs on the paper with their murder metaphors need to deal with the literal resurrector.
