I like my darkfics to counterbalance with lightness so even mild gloom can be thrown into, how do I put it, ah, sharper relief. Grimderp is boring.

Creeping Darkness for one plays the darkness of Alan Wake off very well against the innocent and utopian ponyverse.

Edit: misspelt gloom as glom. Ahahaha, what a typo.

I'd still kind of like to know if the earlier conversation about a Dark Fic having a happy ending where everyone comes Back from the Dead was about "Cloud Factory" but I guess it doesn't matter as it isn't cannon.

Ok.

Personally, Trixie is one of my favourite ponies. She probably isn't my favourite favourite, but I still love her.

She's adorable, skilled (not powerful, just skilled), Hammy, and has an awesome voice. What's not to like? (other than her being a bitch of course, but she's an antagonist so I can excuse her for that as long as she's entertaining)

What is Best in Pony? Twilight Sparkle. Spike. And to hear the lamentations of their Rarity. What is most annoying in Pony? Rarity. Rainbow Dash. Trixie.

I am on the market for funny fics, I'm not a fan of dark stuff and my reaction to Cupcakes was a mixture of disgust and uncomfortable laughter. Not my cup of tea.

However hilariously distorting certain characters I can live with. I just wish the one Molestia fanfic out there wasn't basically rape scenes of vague comedic value. Once it learned that she did get to Fluttershy I knew I wouldn't finish *shudders*

My favourite pony would be our adorably awkward librarian Twilight Sparkle.

Speaking of Trixie, my favourite interpretation of her has her trying to make friends, but she keeps slipping up and letting her meaner tendencies surface. She's totally a Tsundere.

I don't hate her. Hate is such a powerful word. I as much as I love her ham my problem with her is the same I have with Rarity and Rainbow Dash. The self-centered self-aggrandizing narcissistic-esque personality types rub me the wrong way.

In previous news, why is there an issue with Twilight being darker skinned when humanized exactly?

I have no problem with dark skinned Twilight,

though I see her as Japanese myself. Must be the Hime Cut.

Must be the Hime cut, interpretations I've seen including my own make her Indian, it just makes sense to me for some reason. I can understand the interpretation of her being Japanese but it rubs me the wrong way due to a kneejerk reaction against obsessive japanophiles rubbing their Japan into everything they can.

I considered drawing Fluttershy oriental myself but then I realized that there may be unfortunate implications and my own distaste towards Yamato Nadeshiko made me lean towards making her Caucasian.

For RD it was either black or Latina.

On Twilight Sparkle: I think of her having a sort of golden-brown Southeast-Asian pigmentation. Her character invokes images of a post-grad student/scholar.

On the subject of Dark Fics, I can certainly respect them if they are well-written. Namely, keeping characters in-character.

This basically sums it up for me; the problem is that with MLP making everything Grimdark kinda pulls almost everyone OOC.

@Mousa: My issue with it isn't that Twilight is dark skinned, it's that most artists make her and only her dark skinned while every other pony is white. It just seems weird to me for some reason.

Also, Twilight is best pony.

It's actually quite amazing that Twilight is my favourite as it's very unlike me for the protaganist to be my favourite. Fluttershy is a very close second.

Felt like I should share this, as it is pony related. But this is how I concluded my recent essay in my politics and economics class.

"I regret to inform you that I, unfortunately, am at a loss as to how to conclude this fine essay. As an alternative, I have provided you with a drawing of a very dapper pony with a Pringles 'stache, located below."

I'd push for them to have mostly natural hair colours with hints of their ponytones. Twilight would have black hair with hints of purple in the right light, Pinkie would have light brown hair with pink tinting (or she'd dye her hair bright pink!), RD would have sun-bleached hair that she dyes in rainbow stripes, etc etc.

Edit: that pony-sketch essay ending reminds me of that other guy who did Unlimited Essay Works, only more pony-awesome.
