Well, considering that the portal drops you off right where and when you left, you could easily spend your entire life in Equestria, then go back to Earth and start right back at the beginning. Double the life.

You won't be the same person, and I don't just mean in a personal development way. Spend a year in Equestria, and you'll still be a year older from your own perspective. What I'm afraid of is spending so much time there that by the time I come back, I'll have effectively forgotten everyone I know. They'll recognize me, I've only been gone a couple of minutes. But for me, I won't have seen them in years, or decades. They'd be strangers to me.

So even if I'm dropped off at the exact same time I left, I wouldn't want to spend too long.

What created this portal, anyway? Is it some sort of malevolent force? Cause I ain't touching no ancient voodoo curses.

Unless otherwise specified, assume it's neutral. Like gravity or something.
