Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

No no, I'm over my pony-licking thing now. It's just...don't bring up a picture of ponies made of candy and expect me NOT to react to it. tongue

finished with Visionary, a good story it was. A fascinating take on changeling society as they make the change from leeches that infiltrate and deceive other societies for their love to one that takes a more diplomatic route. And, of course, members of their society who would rather things not change.

The only part that bugged me was the ending. As I've said before, I like happy endings as much as the next Blissey, but I don't care for perfect endings. And between Chrysalis being redeemed via a Heroic Sacrifice and the entire desert the changelings live in being renewed into a lush paradise, I found the ending entirely too upbeat.

Overall though, excellent story. Easily in my top 10 so far.

and there's even a follow up story to read!

On the upside, that means Ego can focus on Slice of Life!

I thought we agreed ponies were made of marshmallows and dark matter anway.

I wonder if anyone ships big name bronies with each other? And if so, does someone ship Egophiliac and CSIMadmax?

[up]The EQD staff ship their characters with each other, but mainly as a joke.

A common misconception. Ego is a girl.

Hey guys,

I've got a new fanfic idea that's giving me trouble. Thing is, it's told entirely from Raydence's (Surprise's pet human) point of view and I'm not sure what direction to go with it. Should there be an actual story or just a bunch of observations?

Thanks in advance.

(Asking here because I'd appreciate a wider variety of opinions than I'd normally get in the Fanfiction thread)

I like the thing with logic bricks. tongue I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a more 'observational' style. Based on what you wrote, I'm not sure how a story might develop.

@Moe: There are basically two ways you can go about it: 1. A series of short isolated memories, or 2. one longer continuous story developed through observations. The first would basically be a like a bunch of snippets that use the POV kinda like a framing device. Either one would work. What you have now is sort of like a combination; it's highly observational, but as one big unit it doesn't seem to be leading anywhere. It basically depends on whether you want a single important thread running through. (Although you could do that with snippets as well; it would just take longer to become evident).

Also, Here's my swing at the ATG prompt for today.

That reminds me of my old attempt to write a fanfic. My idea was to make it a series of snippets too.

@J Teeth, you've done better. Not much I can recommend besides straighter lines and use more references. Also, sketch, sketching is surprisingly helpful. I used to just do the pencil to paper process fora long time and to this day I still think I was an idiot for sticking to it for so long. sketching, especially lightly, gives you more freedom to get things right.

Oh, I did a commish for Aplelight the conclusion of MM Mystery on the Friendship Express on Tumblr, Derpibooru, and Deviantart, and per usual of my commissioning standards it is well shaded. Derpibooru is giving me mixed signals, it hated it a few moments ago.

Exactly where would I use straighter lines? In the vectors I was using for reference just about everything was curved.
