Apple Bloom is good at design in general. Not sure about straight art, though they did make a pretty sweet giant heart for Cheeriliee.

Applebloom probably has latent crafting talent. She rebuilds the CMC clubhouse, and even the Cutie Pox generates the talent of sculpting for her. I have a minor

that Cutie Pox taps into your potential talents to generate cutie marks.

Actually, I don't think there's any good explanation for that. Unless you're a pegasus with the special talent of making tornadoes.

@ed We've totally seen some pegasus with a tornado cutie mark before. Though that does seem to imply that Cutie Pox transcends racial barriers when forcing supernatural talents upon ponies. What if AB had ended up with a magic-based cutie mark in that episode? She probably would have destroyed the town.

@Lurker: In general. What would a Unicorn do with a cutie mark of an impure silicate with a beryl geode inside? What kind of talent would an Earth pony with a double-barred spiral galaxy cutie mark have? How about the Pegasus with a cutie mark of a spider?

Probably part earth pony. Does earthquakes by flying high up into the air, divebombing, and slamming into the ground harder than Rainbow Dash Sonic Rain-nuking into a broken barn.

@Ace Well, there's nothing to stop an Earth Pony or Pegasus from studying magic (or astronomy, as star marks are easily able to be interpreted in multiple ways), like Sereg's Star Swirl. And Rarity deals with gems, so geological elements aren't restricted to just Earth Ponies. The marks are gained according to the pony's abilities and interests, so whatever mark they get means something to them deep down, and they decide what it is.
