Quite a day for English civil wars. The Charles I one? That began August 22, plus the Battle of the Standard between England and Scotland was fought that day.

Plus civil rights: the revolution in Haiti and Nat Turner's rebellion happened on the same date years apart, and the Red Cross was founded on the day the Geneva Convention was signed, and they closed Devil's Island.

And cars? Teddy Roosevelt rode in a car for the first time, and Cadillac was founded.

I love date facts.
