@Condo: I dunno, I kinda enjoyed the novelizations of the Bay-Transformers movies, and the toyline has some of the most amazing Optimus Prime Leader-class figs.

@JT: Thanks, will check back once I get my mitts on a credit card.

@Mio: It might make sense if Celestia came in from the Crystal Kingdom to battle Discord, and then since there were no more able leaders at the time, she took charge and didn't realise how long she'd have the throne.

Don't quote me on that, though.

The only movie that ever pissed me off more was Cars 2. And there is no film that has done more to earn my loathing.

"Niece" could just be a term of endearment from Celestia rather than any blood relationship. If the two were close enough, I could easily see Cadance call her "Auntie Celestia" or something to that effect.

@Ace: We haven't actually seen any of the "crystal" ponies (unless Cadance qualifies as one) so that may just be were Alicorns come from (though that would raise some questions).

Perhaps she is adopted in order to afford her royal status. Or maybe that is what all nobles refer to Celestia as.

It would have to be a very distant blood relationship, then, considering that Cadance is rather young and Luna was trapped in the moon for a thousand years.

Funny thing, but I don't think Cadence ever explicitly addresses Celestia as her aunt (and neither does Blueblood). They probably only do that in private though.

I like to think that there are so few Alicorns all of them refer to each other as family with sister being of a similar age, aunt being one that's dramatically older and niece as one that's dramatically younger.

IIRC she was confused that Mare Do Well seemed to have a horn and wings which would make sense if there were very few Alicorns.

@Ace: Dash probably just didn't pick up on it since she was so frustrated at the time. Besides she has never exactly been the sharpest tool in the shed.

She wasn't confused so much as frustrated.

I don't believe in Ruined Forever. My soul has been crushed by heartless entertainment conglomerates so many times that I have trained it to re-inflate immediately with an intense combination of crime-fighting, meditation, and ponies.

She's a Rainbow Dash fangirl the same way Dash is a Wonderbolts fangirl. That makes them both geeks, but cool ones.

Plus, I could so see Scootaloo loving Batman comics especially, if they existed in the same universe.

Dash is a regular geek over Daring Do, though. One of Us!
