@Lurker: Well a lot of people seem to assume that they are insectoid and that they have a hivemind ans what not. While their appearance does lend to that I've always felt that because of their name origins that they could be the pony equivalent of Fae. I don't know, just curious.

Cards also said that Tank was Pinkie Pie's pet.

Electron is a unicorn, and is always feeling tingly with static.

@Mio I thought that it was pretty clear that they were fae in nature thanks to the whole "infiltrate and feed off of love" thing, the insectoid features aren't uncommon with the classical fae, either. The hive mind theory is debunked within the episode itself as several changeling drones managed to show a decent amount of personality.
