@JT Or being imprisoned in the place that she's banished to.

Except we know she HAD a part in the original script it just had to be cut for time

Exactly. tongue

But yeah, like Fluttershy would be banished somewhere without much wildlife, Twilight would be banished to an agricultural area where physical labor is more important than studying, etc.

[up]Having a part in the initial script doesn't really have anything to do with the quality of the final episode. But really, I don't consider AJ's lack of influence a genuine problem, it's just more of an oddity.

I always took "banishment" in the case of NMM to mean more what "sealing" typically means in any other fantasy series. She wasn't physically on the moon, because she wasn't physically anywhere. Her essence was literally sealed in the moon itself. Of course, its all headcanon, and having things physically end up on the moon is still funny, if overdone.

Applejack would be banished to pony Congress/Parliament/etc, where lying is commonplace.

AJ would be banished to a lonely, cold desert with no friends and no work to do.

and everyone making these "banishes you to the moon" joke, forgets she had to have the power of the Eo H to do it.

[up][up][up][up][up]I pointed that out as a justification when I said all this. It was a Rogers episode anyway, who did most of the AJ focused episodes from before, so it's reasonable she may want a change of focus.

Fluttershy's involvement I admit is random, though maybe works well because of that, like an "even nice guys have their bad moments" message, she wasn't forced into it or embittered that way like in previous episodes, it was just a brief human moment of weakness.

This kind of makes me wonder if the episode would have worked in a Villain Protagonist style setup where we see things through the perspective of the three guilty ponies.

Yes, I still find moon jokes funny.

AJ must be immune to Pinkie food releted "power" just like any other cooking EP who worked with Pinkie, becuase it's only way to be able finish any meal without consuming it after Pinkie describe how that can taste.

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

Hey Roy, what's your favorite episode so far? Mine's Luna Eclipsed.

In fact, while I love all the episodes, this is my top 5.

  • 1. Luna Eclipsed
  • 2. Hurricane Fluttershy
  • 3. May the Best Pet Win
  • 4. Sonic Rainboom
  • 5. A Canterlot Wedding

...Yes, I'm a Dash fan. Could you tell? :P
Shamelessly plugging my comics, Oh yes.

and yeah it is funny, people just have to remeber that it was a last chance act of desperation that probably haunted Celestia the entire time and required far more power then she has on her own.

Now trapping people in an ILLUSION of being sent to the moon while they are in fact just in an empty room in the castle to teach them a lesson about making jokes about being banished to the moon, that is awesome. And yes there is a fic where this happens.

[up]Now I want to see that too.

Those Banishment to the Moon jokes stopped being funny year ago.

My only gripe is that it's mildly out of character for Fluttershy to damage the cake

Pinkie's Mind Control is surprisingly powerful.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

If I remember correctly MM Mystery was originally supposed to have AJ be a culprit to.

It's kind of hilarious how that episode had almost the exact opposite (though unstated) aesop as Party of One.

[down]Clearly that was MMDW.tongue

Luna Eclisped wasn't the best Dash episode.

Hmmm... Current top 5 "episodes" (if we count two-parters as one episode) would have to be:

1 A Canterlot Wedding
2 A Dog and Pony Show
3 Ponyville Confidential
4 Lesson Zero
5 Over a Barrel

The Fic is Brony International Guard. Bronies create a portal to equestria and come through in teams of 25 or so, each one swearing itself to a pony and serving them. The Tia squad makes it about a day before someone mention Trolllestia, so she trolls them all.

Discounting the 2-parters (comparing them to single episodes isn't really fair), and taking only my personal preference into account:

1. Lesson Zero 2. A Dog and Pony Show 3. Sisterhooves Social 4. Green Isn't Your Color 5. Party of One

The order is variable, and there are one or two other episodes that I waffle on a bit.

Discounting A Canterlot Wedding would probably slip Party of One in at number five on my list and bump everything else up. Either that or I just take A Canterlot Wedding Part 2 and stick that at number five. I can't decide.

Pony crossover image with Aliens. No Xenomorphs in it, but it is based off of some of the charectors from Aliens.

Hmm. I don't like ordering favorites, so here's 5 of my favorites (maybe not even my top 5) in no particular order:

Luna Eclipsed, Sisterhooves Social, May the Best Pet Win, It's About Time, Cutie Mark Chronicles.

^^ Coincidentally, I just watched that movie last night. :P

Out of curiosity, has anyone noticed that the ponies' eyes make different shapes when they're closed?

  1. The usual closed-eye shape seems to be curved up, like a smile.
  2. However, another closed-eye shape seems to be curved down, like a sad mouth.

If you don't believe me, just check out Rarity in "Sisterhooves Social" as an example. You can tell the difference, because her eye-shadow becomes obvious when her eyes close the usual way, but there's no eye-shadow when her eyes close the other way.

What's up with that? surprised
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!
