[up][up]The sun itself moves through space, and we still orbit it, and the moon still orbits the earth. That doesn't mean anything.

@Perpetual Lurker: There is a solar system model that says that the sun and moon go round the Earth and everything else goes round the sun. I believe that the show uses that model.

@Turtlebutter's second pic: [lol] Looks like that's where her tail was SUPPOSED to go, but they missed their mark. I wonder if a factory error like that would be rare and/or valuable...

Hey Applelight. We were explaining who Cadence is to D Roy, and are now arguing about what the composition of the universe is in the show.

@Bluespade - Wait, Twilight has a brother?

WHAT?

I tend to lean on the side of geocentricity for the setting, mainly because I think it's more consistent to have the ponies controlling the seemingly natural occurrences. It just fits the setting more, and Celestia would have to be stupidly powerful to move the entire planet around a full sized son. It's possible, but I think it just makes more sense to say that the sun and moon are just heavenly bodies that Celestia and Luna can move around because they're smaller than in reality. That and I think that it's a lot easier to just explain the meteor shower as occurring some other way rather than to assume it works just like it would in reality and then extrapolate Celestia's and Luna's abilities from it.

I don't see how Twilight having a brother was such a big deal. Sweetie Belle being Rarity's sister kinda came out of nowhere, too. The characters don't talk about their families much at all, even when we know that they exist. When has Pinkie ever mentioned either of her sisters? In fact, I don't think that she even mentioned them in her dialog in Cutie Mark Chronicles. We just saw them in the flashback.

[up][up][up] They sort of gloss over it when he shows up. They were close when she was a child, but he enlisted in the military and left home even before she did. They apparently kept in touch, but didn't see each other as much.

I think the Alicorns are extremely powerful. At least as powerful as the combined unicorn race. A lot of their power is tied up to their heavenly body.

@D Roy: He's the Captain of the Royal Guard. His name is Shining Armor, and he's a unicorn like Twilight, and seems to be a powerful spell caster as well, though we've only seen him cast one spell.

Sweetie Bell being Rarity's sister I can understand, but Twilight having a brother confounds me. I mean, I don't remember seeing him in Cutie Mark Chronicles. Then again, neither was SB.

I assumed Twilight went to study with Celestia a while after Shining Armor left for the guard.

Yeah, his appearance does have a bit of Remember the New Guy to it, but on the other hand there are really only like 2 scenes in the show before his introduction where he could have been put in (the pilot and the flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles) and in both cases there's a really obvious explanation why he wouldn't be present (that being that he's either in training or an on-duty soldier at those points in the timeline). Also, it's an older brother, which means he could easily have moved out of the house for some reason at a point on the timeline before Twilight's flashbacks.

Remember the New Guy sounds like the right trope.

Oh well, I will have to wait until I see him. Hang on, when does he appear?

Well, nine more episodes to go, then.

Wait, did you say two parter? Why, does a new villain show up or something?

Because it was a hyped up wedding. Just wait and see.

Because weddings deserve more than one episode of coverage, clearly.

yeah, it is basically Remeber The New Guy, but given the rest of the Mane 6 seemed shock to hear she had a brother as well, she obviously never talked about him to them either, so no reason we would know.

Then again, neither was SB.

Nor did AB.

Anyway I just had some Fridge Brilliance with the Namby Pamby Pony Princesses line. If 'Princess' really is a common title among the pony nobility, the dragons might not have known that it was an actual Alicorn princess and instead thought it was just somepony like Blueblood.
