It was interesting how it was (I think) the first story that doesn't issue an Aesop to any of the mane cast (it seemed to be heading that way with more AJ vs RD interaction, but it simmers quickly and the ponies spend most of the latter half acting as Straight Men).
Never was a fan of that episode. It focused on the side characters too much, and I thought that the resolution was kinda unsatisfactory. The only part I really liked was the bit on the train at the beginning.
I honestly don't care who gets focus in an episode so long as the episode itself still works. You could give me an episode following Snips and Snails for a day and I wouldn't care. I really can't see how who the episode focuses on would have any real affect on the quality.
I liked Baby Cakes; it was the first time I actually identified with Pinkie, thinking back to trying to keep up with my cousins when they were little.
I don't see the mane six being out of the center of attention in the episode as a problem either. So long as its enjoyable.
Tealove is best pony.
Ask The Mane Six
@Seraphem Not at this point, no. I got to Arbu, knew exactly where it was going with that, and decided that it wasn't worth reading through the angst and misplaced blame, since the backstory half of things certainly wasn't going to contain anything enjoyable for me.
It was a random episode. Those are almost always met with polarizing reception.
I seriously thought it would be unintentional racist but they handlers it quite well. Could have done without the war paint.
The only part I really liked was the bit on the train at the beginning.
Well the train bit was enough to get me hooked. Also, now Van will understand my avatar.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
