I don't get that either. My personal headcanon is that the flashbacks in Cutie Mark Chronicles took place during summer; it explains why AJ and Pinkie wouldn't be in school, and it makes sense that flight camp would be during the summer as well. For Twilight, it makes sense you'd interview to go to a new school during that time of year, and Rarity's show could easily be something associated with the school but not part of the actual school year.

The logic is that they all got their marks at the same time, so AJ would be incorrect if she were in the same class as Rarity. That logic is flawed, though, because while the Sonic Rainboom was the instigator for AJ receiving her mark, she didn't get it until she made it home much later.

I thought I was of the very few that liked Over The Barrel. It was a fun episode to me, lots of cute character interaction and a decent attempt of expanding the show's universe outside Ponyville. Not outstanding but an amusing story.

And yes AJ baby talking to a tree is adorable.

Actually, now I'm wondering if Cherilee and Big Mac weren't classmates. It would certainly explain them being old friends, and Cherilee does seem a little older than the Mane 6 now that I think of it.

I really enjoyed it, enough to put it just barely in my top five episodes. It was really adventurous, had plenty of world building, introduced neat characters, and had some of my favorite gags in the series.
